Anti-sickness bands

Hi,
I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant and have been struggling terribly with nausea.
I have eaten that much ginger, the thought of it makes me heave 🙈
Anyway, out of desperation I bought Sea Bands from boots yesterday and thought they were a load of crap in all honesty. However - I have felt noticeably less nauseous yesterday and today...
It may be coincidence or even in my head but if you are struggling, for £9 it's worth a try ♥️

I got some (they look like sweat bands with a lump which goes on a pressure point?) for my 10yo son who has travel sickness. Don't know if it's a placebo effect, but he never complains of travel sickness when he's wearing them!

Twinkle1989 · 17/12/2020 20:17

@Kolo that's the ones! They're strange aren't they?! And less than comfortable 😂 but it's much better than feeling constantly sick to the point I was crying and saying 'I can't remember when I last felt well' 😳👏 drama queen of the year goes to....

Needed to read this! I’m only 5+1 but had one intense morning of nausea 2 days ago so DH brought me back some of these. Luckily haven’t had to use them yet but good to know they’re worth it! 🤞

Twinkle1989 · 17/12/2020 20:23

@MrsB2019x I felt rough before I found out I was pregnant and then this last 2 weeks have been horrendous - I'm trying to avoid taking medications and trying to be brave 😂 but I was waking up in the night feeling sick, and looking forward to bedtime so I could sleep and not feel sick 😷
I found that whilst I'm picking at food I'm alright - it hits me when I stop so I've probably whacked the weight on thee last couple of weeks 😳 but then I was bloated and it was a vicious circle 😭

I was advised against them in my first pregnancy. The sales person in the pharmacy said "don't bother - they don't work!" Angry Well, they did help during my second!

I was so nauseous when pregnant with dd and these saved me. I think the people who say they don't with might not have the little ball thing on the right area on their wrist. They're amazing I think!

bellinisurge · 17/12/2020 20:44

They work for me for motion sickness but were useless when I was pregnant. I was hospitalised with hyper emesis in the end.

BergamotMouse · 17/12/2020 20:46

I had an emetens wrist band for hyperemesis. Like the sea sickness bands but with electrical impulses. Helped me a lot!!

boymum88 · 17/12/2020 20:47

Worked well for me in both pregnancy's, just have to have them in the right position

I'm so glad I've come across this thread and seen the positive feedback, I'm 7 weeks today and have been struggling with nausea all day for past week or so. I have some unused wrist bands from a trip abroad a couple of years ago, so I've put them on this morning... fingers crossed they work for me too!! 🤞

Twinkle1989 · 18/12/2020 08:07

@Seasalt1984 oh good luck - let us know how you get on! I do hope they work for you too!
