Slow heart rate at 6+6 - outcomes?

Hi,

I went for a scan this morning and although the fetus measured right for my dates, the heartbeat was really slow at around 67bpm (the midwife couldn't pick it up using the machine so had to go by what she could see.)

I need to go for another scan in 10-14 days, assuming no miscarriage in meantime, to see whether there's any change.

Can anyone share their experience with this and how it turned out please? Not expecting miracle stories - I just would like to know what to expect. Sonographer said it could go either way.

Thank you x

My sister had this after IVF and unfortunately by the next scan there was no heartbeat. The baby was also measuring small for dates and they knew the dates were accurate obviously, so maybe potentially good that baby is measuring correctly?

Thank you for sharing that @JChina. I hope she went on to have a healthy subsequent pregnancy?

Can anyone else share experiences with this? X

We had a scan at 7+2 and the heartbeat was slightly slow at 107 BPM I believe. I did way too much research online and really scared myself. We went back a week later and all was fine, and it still is now at 33 weeks. Sometimes at early scans the heart is just getting started and isn't beating normally yet, but unfortunately it can be a bad sign. I read lots of forums about this and plenty of women went on to have healthy pregnancies, though many didn't. Best of luck.

@Threecouldbefour she did, absolutely. Two, in fact :)

Just to update - baby was just fine on the scan today. Heart rate normal and growth normal - in fact I was put forward a few days. Couldn't believe it. Hope this may provide some hope if anyone else is in the same boat x

Thank you so much. Feel so relieved and happy this morning. Know what you mean about the wait! Awful! A week has never felt so long x
