With my first pregnancy I never had any cravings, maybe ice water but I put that down to being pregnant in summer.

This time, I'm literally only 4 weeks and I dreamt of Branston pickle!! I've always hated it, this time I dreamt of it and when I ate it I loved it. How strange? Prior to this I never thought cravings were really a thing.

What were you're cravings, and when did you start having them?

Any weird and wonderful ones?

Ketchup on toast at around 8 weeks. Only lasted a few weeks. Now I'm 33 weeks and all I crave is a good nights sleep Confused

Waterb0ttle · 15/12/2020 21:45

Oh I'm so happy I stumbled across this thread. I'm 7 weeks and all I can think about is bbq mini cheddar with babybel cheese... My first pregnancy so didn't expect cravings to be so strong but as soon as I ate them I was so happy 🤗 love to know other cravings people have had

Chunkyetfunky90 · 15/12/2020 21:47

Dd1 Pickled onion monster munch and marmite sandwiches, dd2 bacon rolls lived off them 😳, ds apples and malteasers

spaceghetto · 15/12/2020 21:50

Vegetarian bacon with both.

I got pregnant in April. I could not eat enough peaches. Usually I'm not bothered by them.
I once randomly felt a real urge to eat Philadelphia on celery. I was walking up the stairs at home, and just got this weird urge for the cold, soft texture of the cheese and crunchy/water texture of the celery. Really weird.

PlanBea · 15/12/2020 22:03

JELLY! Any flavour. I think it's a texture thing? Never been that fussed for it so to suddenly have to leave the house and go get jelly was interesting haha

#1 Ice cubes and Rennie's tablets.

Spoke to my midwife as I was honestly drooling over the tablets... I limited myself to 6 a day towards the end as I could've happily eaten a box Blush

#2 Ice cubes and Cherry Coke.

When I was pregnant I cried and threatened to throw DH out as he finished the bag -trays didn't hold enough 🤨

Bathwater · 15/12/2020 22:39

Smell of elbow grease (the degreaser spray cleaner) - but will take any disinfectant with a strong smell like dettol. I limit myself to one session of cleaning a day.
Lemon Fanta or hot ribena
Raw carrot - have one carrot peeled every night before bed

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/12/2020 22:41

Cleaning sponges.
I'd cut them up into bite size pieces and have them in my pocket.

MyNameForToday1980 · 15/12/2020 22:43

My diet was like a child-diet for the entirety of my pregnancy:

Plain ham sandwiches on white bread.

Punnets and punnets of strawberries.

Cheerios.

And absolutely NOT any green veg, which all tasted of dirt.

Moreanonymousme · 15/12/2020 22:55

Twiglets was mine. My cravings were at their peak just before Christmas, so what did I get for Christmas? Yep, 3 boxes of Twiglets! Ate my way through them too 😋

Missingthebridegene · 15/12/2020 22:55

Omg I craved salt!!!!!! Chips with salt and crisps crisps and more crisps!!!!!!! X

CouldntThinkOfAUsrname · 15/12/2020 23:03

I constantly wanted to chew ice cubes. And smell strong smells such as wet concrete, nail polish remover etc, I couldn’t get enough. Weird I know!

MaverickDanger · 15/12/2020 23:07

Cereal, mango and carrots.

Although I had more food aversions - I pretty much went off chicken for my entire first and second trimesters, and still not a huge fan now at 40 weeks.

shelbyrae · 15/12/2020 23:16

with my ds, in the beginning, I would get really hungry and crave stuff at night because I couldn't eat much in the day with morning sickness.

I remember really craving tacos, burgers, pizza, bacon, sushi and tempura...really savoury foods

Later on I craved radishes like a madwoman, as well as my strangest craving ... potting soil. (both due to anaemia)

TeaBanditTeej · 15/12/2020 23:19

@Missingthebridegene I'm craving salt too. I'm 12 weeks and 2 days. Have you found out what sex you're having?
passthemustard · 15/12/2020 23:23

Raw carrots. Currently getting through 5kg a week.

Also have consumed a lot of raw sugar snap peas.

And chocolate Confused

AliceMcK · 15/12/2020 23:25

Seafood chowder. I never gave in though.

I did have a bit of a red wine craving with one pregnancy but not enough to give in to it.

SilverOtter · 15/12/2020 23:48

With my first son it was salty, carby rubbish like crisps and supernoodles (I don't normally like supernoodles🤮). And fruit and veg. I remember going to the canteen at work one lunchtime and all I wanted (and got!) was an enormous mountain of cabbage covered in gravy😂

With both boys I craved curry - the hotter the better!

iwasacceptableinthe80s · 16/12/2020 00:02

Cottage cheese - it had to be Longley Farm brand though. Beetroot, I would buy 5 trays of the cooked beetroot from the chiller cabinet at M&S at a time. Funnily enough, dd really dislikes both of those things.

Reindeermayhem · 16/12/2020 00:16

Cherries
Smell of rubber
Vinegar

All,different pregnancies

laura2109 · 16/12/2020 04:18

Interesting thread! I giggled throughout! For me, 1st pregnancy I started eating bananas, which I hated before, didn't even talk to someone who'd just ate one lol. I also came off cumin use as cooking spice, to this day I'm not a fan and that was over 10 years ago. 2nd pregnancy for which I'm 29 weeks, I had a few weeks of sweet mango cravings, could eat a dozen per day. Then there was the egg/chicken crave, I'd eat eggs in different forms for almost all meals, then I hated both. I'm currently on a coca cola phase.

laura2109 · 16/12/2020 04:19

Forgot, I'm craving sleep lol, randomly woke at 2am and can't go back to sleep :(

dancingindungarees · 16/12/2020 04:31

Apple Creams and frosted pink Donuts from Tesco. I'm a savoury person normally and wouldn't thank you for sweet stuff.

idontfeelwelltoday · 16/12/2020 06:48

Lentils!
DS is 3 now and it's the only vaguely healthy thing he would eat Hmm
