Hi ladies,

I am 4+5 today and struggling with broken sleep. I go to bed around 10:30 then I’m up around 2/3ish on and off until 7. This has happened since 3+5 (day before I found out). I thought you’re meant to be tired and sleep all the time?! 😫 Does/did anyone else have this and pleaseee tell me it gets better! Thank you x

Always have this and sleeping is a struggle, been the same since I found out at 5 weeks, I'm now 13+5, it can be tossing and turning, to been in an uncomfortable position, to needing a pee, to just laid wide awake, constantly tired, not sure weather its baby getting me ready for after he/she is born lol, I've been through it all with my son, hope your sleep settles soon!! xx

I had this to begin with after finding out, I think there are just so many thoughts racing through your mind that it's hard to switch off. It went on for a good few weeks but I'm now in the second trimester and sleep like a log (when I don't need to get up for a pee every few hours!)

I'm afraid it doesn't get much better as the pregnancy progresses. Try and get as much day time sleep as possible. Naps after work and on weekends.

Thanks ladies - I didn’t think my mind was racing or anything unless maybe it is subconsciously (I had an ectopic in April but am feeling unusually calm about this one?)

I have been squeezing in naps at the weekend but don’t think it will be so easy during the week. Will see how I get on! Thanks x

I want a decent nights sleep aswell 😭
I literally haven't had a night of not dreaming for 3 weeks, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and just feel knackered most of the morning, not then helping having to get up at 6:15 for work!

MrsB2019x · 14/12/2020 20:32

@horsey92 Totally get it, I was awake until 6 this morning then DH’s alarm went off at 7 😫 I’m knackered!

Me too. I'm 6 weeks. I'm shattered and can't sleep at the same time. Although I have a lot on my mind too. Hope you get some rest.

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/12/2020 20:49

I had pregnancy insomnia. First symptom and I actually did the test in the wee hours as a result!

It didn't resolve and then DD didn't sleep for two years either. Fun times.

Thanks

@MrsTerryPratchett You poor thing! ☹️ Hope you’re managing to catch up now!

I read of women who will sleep 10 hours at night in early pregnancy and also nap during the day, totally jelly 😫

I had crippling insomnia through my whole pregnancy - I couldn't nap either! I was just wired the whole time.

On the plus side, I actually got more rest when I had a newborn. I just used to conk out for 2/3 hours in between feeds and get some proper quality sleep.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/12/2020 01:29

She sleeps now, Thank goodness.

Take care and I hope it's a little blip!

MrsB2019x · 15/12/2020 07:47

Managed to sleep better last night but woke up feeling sick as hell this morning so just seemed to swap one crappy symptom for another 😂
