Hi everyone!

Sorry for this it might be a bit long. Just really want some reassurance!

So I found out I was pregnant end of Nov. Worked it out that I would’ve been around 8 weeks, but went for a private early scan and they only dated me to about 4/5 weeks but everything looked normal!

Anyway, about 3 days after the scan (Friday just gone) I noticed pink spotting when I wiped. It started off very light and I kind of had to actively look for it if that makes sense? Anyway, it stopped but then Saturday night it turned a bit heavier but was brown. I freaked out and went to a&e but they said there was nothing they could do & would get me in for a scan on Monday (tomorrow)

Okay now tonight - still light brown discharge but if I don’t go to the toilet for a while and I wipe, there’s red stringy discharge. Not a lot, but enough to freak me out :(

I want to add I don’t have any severe pain. Some light cramping but have had that throughout so not really out of the ordinary. I’m only 20 & this is my first pregnancy so very unsure about everything!

Has anyone had anything similar and got a positive outcome? Waiting for the scan tomorrow seems an eternity away :(

Thanks x

Didn't want to read and run Thanks

I can only tell you that plenty of women have all kinds of bleeding during pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies. I bled all the way through my pregnancy - stringy, bright red, brown, small clots - until about 30 weeks. They never worked out where it was coming from but my lovely DD is now 12Smile

Try not to worry - easier said than done I know!

Ahhh thank you for the positive message! Trying so hard to stay sane right now & not think about it. Every little twinge I get I think yep this is it!

I had the same red brown stringy blood after an internal scan at 5 weeks, it lasted about 5 days and passed and I got another scan at 7 weeks and everything is okay. Fingers crossed all goes well for you tomorrow FlowersFlowers

Literally can't sleep... haven't had any more red blood, just very small amounts of light brown when I'm wiping. Sorry if that's TMI! This is all so new to me, I don't know what's normal and what's not. It's nice to have some positive stories!

Really hoping for good news at the scan tomorrow.

It can mean anything, and it's too early to tell, but I had similar at around 5 weeks in one of my pregnancies, plus bad cramps and went on to carry a healthy baby to term. I had a scan which showed some sort of unexplained bleed but they thought it could just be an implantation bleed.

I'm 8 weeks today and have had red/brown/pink spotting. Had a ultrasound at 6 weeks and all was fine. I just had a sac of blood next to baby that kept weeping a bit x

just an update: the gyno I saw on Saturday night messed up & was supposed to give me a time to come for my scan but he didn't. He told me someone would call me this morning to go. Anyway, I never got a call. I was supposed to be there at 11:30! I'm so frustrated. Now I have to wait until Wednesday for a scan. I honestly can't even believe this

Hope the scan goes well today for you xx

Lucyevans96 · 16/12/2020 14:18

Thank you. I had it this morning. It was inconclusive really, but they said they could see two sacks, but only one had yolk sac fetal pole etc. Said I was measuring about 6 weeks, so heart beat wasn't seen but not too worry too much. Bleeding could well be vanishing twin syndrome/twin that isn't viable. If I'm honest, I'll just be grateful for one healthy baby. Having another scan in 2 weeks. X

Bless you so the scan the bitter sweet really but like you say you’ll feel blessed to have one healthy baby. Have everything crossed for you that baby will be fine xx

Just thought I would do an update incase anyone stumbles across this little thread - I unfortunately had a miscarriage a day before my 21st birthday

Very sad news especially so close to Xmas, but we are trying to stay positive!

Hi I’m the exact same . I’m 6 weeks today and can only get a scan on Monday. I’ve been worried ever since I found out I was pregnant because of certain things and I started to spot then it changed to red blood yesterday. I went to a&e last night but they said they couldn’t scan me until Monday . So now I have to wait worried out of my head . Now it’s red/brown and very stringy so I’m even more scared . I need help on this as I’m so worried
