Nosebleeds

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and had a random nosebleed yesterday & today! Never experienced them before with my other children. Just wondering if anyone else has had them or if there could be a simple reason for them. TIA.

I had similar with both pregnancies. I had low platelets. I'm on the low side normally & pregnancy makes them drop even lower. Ask your midwife about your blood results. It's probably nothing to worry about (although such a pain!) They have to drop really really low to be a problem.

I remember reading on nhs website they are a known pregnancy thing...

@Mangomumma ooo! I honestly never knew they was actually a thing! She did give my blood reaults Thursday but never mentioned anything 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ if I get them really often I'll give her a ring as not seeing her again until last week of December!!

@stripey1 thankyou for that! Quite reassuring, I have actually stiffened a stuffy nose this pregnancy but never nose bleeds 😂

If she didn't mention it then it's probably fine :) Nosebleeds are quite common. I spent many a day with tissue stuffed up my nose! I hope they're not too bad x

I had loads of them from about 24 to 30 weeks and everything with my bloods was normal. I’m almost 35 weeks now and not had one for a few weeks. Midwife said it was really common so don’t worry!

I had loads of nosebleeds all throughout my pregnancy. They were happening every 2 days pretty much for 7 months of my pregnancy, I was told it was due to increased blood flow and volume due to pregnancy.
