Hi, new to mumsnet sorry I dont know abbreviations etc. Really hoping some of you lovely mums can share some of your wisdom/experiences with me.

8 weeks pregnant with my second baby and last night (14ish hrs ago) I went to the toilet and when pushing had vaginal bleeding mixed in with discharge, then wiped again and the same. I didnt keep the tissues which I am kicking myself for now. It was accompanied by lower and middle back pain traveling round my side to my front right pelvic area. The back pain (like a dull ache with a bit of cramping) had started a few hours before. I spoke to 111 who sent me onto the doc, the doc said it's a "threatened misscarriage" but too early to say and to ring for a scan, the early pregnancy unit said they wont have me in for a scan until I am either soaking a pad or in pain too bad for paracetemol to manage (due to new coronavirus guidelines).

Just wondering (suppose hoping) if anyone else has had similar experience and gone on to have a healthy normal pregnancy? No bleeding since and pain has calmed down, not really put my mind at rest though and had the worst nightmares all night!

Thanks in advance mamas xx

How are you feeling now? I can imagine how worried you are! My first pregnancy was in 2015 and I had several bleeding incidents throughout pregnancy, starting at 8 weeks till the 26th week (real bleeding, had to use several sanitary pads each time). I've been to the hospital each time and the baby was ok during every check. The doctors and midwifes didn't find the reason of the bleedings. I'm glad to report the baby is now a very healthy schoolboy :) wishing you a wonderful pregnancy, try not to worry to much which, I know, is really hard with every pregnancy 🤰

I'd pay for a private scan if you can afford it op, put your mind at rest x

You can always ring the EPU near you for a scan. I had spotting and went to the EPU. They couldn’t find the cause but was able to hear heartbeat. I’m in my second trimester now

Thanks so much for responding going out of my mind with worry, the EPU wont see me because of coronavirus saying they wont put me at risk of catching the virus until it gets much worse or has been ongoing for days, I begged and they were having none of it so looks like I'll have to wait until monday! That's great news about your boy I wonder what such heavy bleeding could have been!? Gives me hope thay everything will be okay and my bleeding is nowhere near as heavy as that. Pain has almost disappeared so fingers crossed xx

And might have to consider scrimping some money for a private scan if they wont see me Monday, I've got a bad feeling I will be fobbed off again so scary
