I've just found out this morning that I'm pg with dc3 (not planned, was using cap for contraception but it obviously didn't do the job). All being well this means that when dc3 arrives at the end of June, we'll have dd1 at 3.9yrs, dd2 at 1.11yrs and a newborn. Thinking realistically, it sounds bloody scary!! Anyone else with a similar set up have any advice/comments?

How hard it will be depends a lot on your circumstances.

Maybe DD1 will be at pre-school by then? So you won't have all three children all day. Maybe you have your parents or PILs nearby to give you a hand. Maybe you can afford to buy some help.

On your own, it will be hard unless your partner is very hands-on and available.

You'll be fine. I had ds3 when ds2 was 21 months and ds1 was 3.5

It's full on and busy but you soon get into a 'routine' and find what works for you.

Get shopping for a double buggy!

Thanks for replies. We're lucky in that family on both sides are very helpful, dd1 will be going to pre-school (9am-3pm and free!) from September next year and we have three bed house with bunkbeds already set up in dd1's bedroom. Also have a double buggy already!

DH is really hands on but is out of the house from 7am til 6pm, and I've just accepted an excellent part time job a few days ago which I was so keen to get. Will just be getting settled in there when I'll have to broach the subject of me being pg.

It's ironic really, I had an appointment this morning to have a Mirena coil fitted, today was supposed to be the first day of my period and I only did a test because it was odd that I hadn't come on...

Sod's law I suppose.

Thanks again.
