Vaginal stretch trainer anyone?

Hi,

I was on Facebook when I stumbled on this vaginal birth trainer, which is essentially a small inflatable balloon that you insert and inflate with a pump. It says the aim is to get the vaginal to gradually stretch to 10 cm, over a few weeks before birth. Supposedly this could prevent tears or having an episiotomy, anyone has experience with this birth trainer?

Not sure I want my fanjo stretched anymore than is necessary. Also sounds like thrush waiting to happen. I’m out.

Also, I'm concerned having an inflated balloon down there might release the mucus plug?

Vaginas are made to stretch
You could look at perineal massage if you are worried but tbh I would let your body do what its designed for

Don't bother.
It stretches on it's own.

Well women have been giving birth without inflating balloons up their bits for a v long time so personally I think I would give it a miss !

Yeah, I'm out as well, I found the idea intriguing at first but the more I think about it, the less appealing it sounds. They'd invent anything won't they lol

Don't insert anything other than your partner up there during pregnancy. It is not recommended and the parts that need to stretch are right on the outside. Use olive oil and your thumb for perineal massage if you feel like it, there are instructions on Google.
