I was 18 days late on my period. I got tested when i was 9 days late negative preg test negative uti. I started having sore nipples and few cramps then today i had mild cramps earlier then started bleeding but its not heavy like i usually would be and a lighter colour of blood? And the cramps arnt as bad as usual either. Sore nipples have now gone. I am prone to uti i have had 3 in last 6 month plus a admission to hospital with kidney infection and sepsis in march this year. Any ideas on whats going on?

Your period can be late for all kinds of reasons. Change in your sleep habits, eating, exercise, stress, no reason at all.

Can't see anything worrying about what you've said. Sometimes a period doesn't really "kick in" with bleeding and cramps straight away.

If you aren't pregnant (have you taken a home test?), your bleed could be different because of a HUGE number of reasons.

I suspect the most likely candidate is an Anovulatory cycle, where you didn't ovulate this cycle. Or maybe you ovulated later than you normally do (which would cause af to be late by the same number of days).

Both are very very normal even if not usual for you.

Thanks girls ❤️ just so worried about kidney infection as i didn't have no symptoms of uti then ended up in hospital all of a sudden with kidney abd sepsis. Docs done test at 9 days late i never done homr test. Just making sure the change in period is ok never been so late usually regular. But thanks girls 💜

You already posted today with another username.
Same answer as previous post:
You need to take a home pregnancy test!
As for kidney infection and uti, unless you get checked by a doctor no one here will know.

The previous one was different. Yes im aware im just looking to see if other people have similar issues with periods and uti looking for advice. Im aware no one on here wil know without tests. Im waiting to get into docs & hospital for urology appointment but appointment is awhile away so was just looking for advice while am waiting. Its hard and anxious waiting thats all.

As other people have said there could be a lot of causes of what you're experiencing. Do a home pregnancy test to rule it out. If you are concerned about a UTI get a urine test to rule that out. What you're describing sounds like what I had with an anovulatory cycle - they are pretty common. I was having fertility testing at the time when this happened to me so had a blood test that confirmed - I had hoped it was implantation bleeding but the blood test showed I just hadn't ovulated that cycle. No-one was concerned as the next month I ovulated as normal.
