Hi everyone,

I'm suffering with really bad abdominal pain/tenderness. I've been to the antenatal unit was told to take painkillers but not much else. Has anyone else experienced this? Any time scales on recovery or what has helped?

@BL89 I'm not as far along as you (23 wks) so may not be relevant. I've had a lot of abdominal pain caused by UTIs during my PG (no other "classic" UTI symptoms) but I'm sure they would've tested for that? I hope you feel better.

Bad news from me I’m afraid. I’ve had this from mid 20 weeks onwards with both my previous pregnancy and my current one. I’m 34 weeks now and it’s bloody uncomfortable!
I find it tough to have a shower and the midwives poking to work out which way round the baby is is really painful.
I’ve been told it’s ‘just one of those things’ and probably because both were transverse until 33 weeks at which point they both have gone back to back! Might be a totally different issue for you but I was told it’s nothing to worry about but won’t improve unless they turn (neither has shown any signs of obedience Hmm). I find it’s worse if my skin is dry on my bump (it can feel like an eggshell about to crack)!
Hope it’s improves for you soon.

@Mimba1 they checked for a UTI but it's all clear. It

@Onekidnoclue baby is transverse too - I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow and can't bear the thought of being poked and prodded. Thanks for sharing your experience - I think I needed my expectations adjusted as it's been a few weeks and I've just been hoping it'll magically get better Grin. Can I ask how you're coping with baby number 1 whilst suffering with this? Every single movement is painful and I just can't imagine having to look after a little one x

I’m coping by complaining relentlessly to anyone who’ll listen! I’m an absolute joy to be around! TBH DS1 is a good distraction, plus I know it’s not forever and I’ll get a cutie when it’s done. I actually found the first pregnancy harder mentally. NCT gave me expectations I’d be glowing a loving every second. I wasn’t and it made me feel really crappy. This time I had no expectations of dancing through fields in a floaty gown like some kind of earth goddess embracing my womanly strength. Grin
