Just that really! I have just got a bfp and feeling excited but also nervous. I have two DS aged 6 and 3. Always wanted three but the timing (covid) and the reality are a bit Shock

Would love to hear from others!

We looked at the 5008 as well but then like mugs went for the 3008 instead! Gah! And we're stuck in a 3 year contract now. I think it will be OK though. I like the fact it has isofix in the front, so DS1 can squish between two seats in the back (or we'll belt the infant carrier in the middle) for days out and then if we're doing any really long drives we can put one of the car seats in the front. I actually wanted to take the infant carrier as well as DS2's seat when we test drove it but due to corona restrictions we ended up being really short on time so I didn't have time to fit it.

I'm 16+1 with my third and think I'm having braxton hicks- not had them before, can anyone shed light on it at all?

I feel a real, sudden heaviness in my bump, it goes really hard and I feel faint, then it eases again.

Applecrumble24 · 23/12/2020 16:43

Is it not way too early for braxton hicks?
Think you should ring your midwife

Nope, they can start as early as 7 weeks and get lumped in with growing pains. Could maybe be round ligament pains?? Spd has kicked in for me 😭😭😭 so it could all be part of that. I shall ring the midwife tomorrow.
Tuey91 · 26/12/2020 08:22

Hi everyone. I'm 13+5 weeks with my 3rd. 1st DD is 9 1/2, second DD is 6. Nice to find a post which I can relate to in the sense of how many children and age gaps. Can I join please x

MissBPotter · 26/12/2020 08:31

Hi id like you join too please, I am due around 29/08 and have two dds who will be 6.5 and 4.5 by the time this baby hopefully arrives. Feels like a big age gap! I’m really worried about telling my family as I think they will judge me for having too many children Confused not going to tell anyone for a few more weeks anyway, but would be interested to hear how your families reacted! Especially with Covid as I’m worried they won’t be able to see much of baby.

Mishmased · 26/12/2020 21:38

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Welcome @Tuey91 and @MissBPotter 😁 When we shared the news family and friends weren't that surprised as it was common knowledge I always wanted a third, they were surprised I left it so long and somehow assumed we're stopping at 2 kids 😆😆 although I did get the usual 'you're after getting your life back comments' but I refused to have 3 children under 5. Congrats ladies🎊🎊

HitsAndMrs · 26/12/2020 22:25

This is a nice thread as some bigger gaps. I have 2 DDs aged 7 and 9 and I'm 7 weeks with no.3
I finish my degree in June and I am due in August. Must be mad.

MissBPotter · 29/12/2020 15:08

Is anyone else hideously bloated?! I am going up to the loft to look for my maternity jeans ASAP! I’m not even 6 weeks though, which seems ridiculous.
@HitsAndMrs wow that’s good timing though in some ways! Would be so hard to do the studying with a newborn.

SugarCoatIt · 29/12/2020 15:26

I have two DS 8 and 6 and currently 12 weeks with DC3

starsinyourpies · 29/12/2020 18:18

@MissBPotter mine will be 6.5 and 4 and I don't think I could have done a third any sooner!

HitsAndMrs · 29/12/2020 19:52

@missbpotter Definitely true! Just means another year out but all worth it.
This pregnancy is so different this time. Has anyone else found that?

Ive got smallish gaps as well @loti92 mine will be nearly 3 and a half and 16m when baby number 3 arrives. Swing between dreading the thought and looking forward to it! I'm about as big now as with my second which was bigger than my first too so guessing this baby will be bigger when born too.

This pregnancy has been so different to the other 2 so far in both good and bad ways. Bad, bloated early and showing so early, needing maternity clothes from about 8 weeks. There has been absolutely no hiding it 😂
Good, different partner who is beyond supportive, he's so caring and helped me find different remedies to various ailments, he's very excited too.

Tottington · 31/12/2020 09:58

Hello and congratulations everyone! Can I join? I just got my positive test for our #3! We'd only just decided to stop using protection so it's a bit of a shock!
Our children will be 5&4 (closer to 6&5 though) when this one is due ... I never had to get up for school drop offs before so that'll be interesting. I'm also feeling slightly guilty that it's due about 3 days after my DD starts school so it'll be quite a life changing week for her!

I'm hoping that the sudden elimination of wine from my diet will compensate any pregnancy weight gain for a few months Grin and I'll be able to keep it hidden for a while!

JChina · 31/12/2020 17:36

@Tottington congratulations! I am still unfortunately feeling really anxious about the pregnancy with all that’s going on in the world! It is a planned pregnancy but just seems like COVID has taken any joy out of it and replaced it with fear and and also that people will think we’re crazy for doing this now. I am hoping I will feel better as hormones settle a bit and things, and I’m sure the 12w scan will help! My son will start school about two weeks after this baby is born too but I’m actually hopeful it will be good timing for him, he’s also already at school nursery so not too massive of a change hopefully.

Thanks for setting up this thread @JChina. So nice to find a thread for three and some with larger age gaps too. I’d love to join the group.
I’m currently 23 weeks with my third and have an 8 year old DS and 5 year old DD. I’m 39 years old so it was a case of now or never after spending 2 years wondering if we should or shouldn’t. Decided to go for it and it happened straight away. I know I’m very lucky but I have to say have worried myself stupid for the first three months thinking if I’ve done the right thing, what will the kids think, bringing a baby into the world with Covid etc! We are also moving into a complete dooer upper between now and when baby arrives so life will be hectic! Grin

I think after the scan at 20 weeks I feel more settled into pregnancy now, baby is kicking and I’m starting to relax a bit more and looking forward to the baby arriving. This is the last time I’m doing this, so I’ve told myself its time to just enjoy it.

JLM1008 · 01/01/2021 11:31

I’m also expecting number 3. 25 weeks and I have a 7 and 9 year old - will be 8 and 9 when this one arrives. Nice to find similar ladies with larger age gaps ☺️

Jchina · 09/01/2021 20:37

How is everyone doing? Got homeschooling to up the ante with morning sickness and exhaustion but trying to find the positives of no school run! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Highheels87 · 11/01/2021 07:53

Hi, I’m 34 weeks with number 3 and have two DD’s who will be 13 and 10yo. Know exactly what you mean with the anxiety! I’ve been anxious from the day I got my bfp. We still haven’t told anyone other than close family for fear of something happening. It’s definitely been the hardest out the 3 and I started showing very early! Getting worried about the covid situation now with hospitals becoming overwhelmed. I did plan for a home birth but our trust has suspended these for the foreseeable. Hopefully things have settled down when some of you ladies approach due dates later this year 🙂

MissBPotter · 11/01/2021 08:37

@Jchina home schooling plus (thankfully part time!) work, constant nausea and not being able to go outside much or do anything other than muddy walks is definitely not ideal! Can’t even have any alcohol to help Smile Like you say though, it is good to see the positives, we are all healthy at the moment and expecting a new baby is such a blessing.

Hi @Highheels87 welcome, that’s quite a big age gap if you don’t mind me saying, are your girls really excited? That’s such a shame about your home birth, I would love one as well (only 7 weeks so very early days still - may not be something I need to worry about). I had one last time and I would prefer to keep away from hospitals at this time, but I guess they can’t guarantee you a midwife for a home birth?

KB13 · 11/01/2021 08:48

I know how you feel @Highheels87 I’m 33 weeks pregnant with number 3 and was really hoping all of this would be a distant memory by time we gave birth. But it’s just worse than the first time. I’m not looking forward to going in to have him at all. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed everything goes to plan and we are in and out fairly quickly

WalkingMeAway · 11/01/2021 15:36

Hi all. Just checking in. 14w now. Had a good NHS scan and also had our NIPT at the weekend. Anxiously awaiting results.

Thankfully the nausea has subsided so feeling much better. Have started to tell most people now but won’t make any grand announcements. Somehow doesn’t feel right.

LetsD0ThisThing · 11/01/2021 20:16

Hi everyone. I'm 9 weeks with DC #3. We have 2 DS age 12 and 7. Completely wiped out and nauseous all day every day. Definitely found this time has been harder, maybe it's my age! I'm 34. This is actually my 6th pregnancy, I have previously had 2 early MC and a MMC at 13 weeks, so I'm very nervous and my scan can't come quick enough. Nice to find this thread.
