Does anyone take pregnancies seriously anymore?!

Had such bad sickness that I went to A&E last Tuesday. Was put on a drip. They checked my bloods and urine and said everything was fine but I had to go to the EPU the next morning. They did another urine test and told me everything was fine. Brilliant. Still felt like absolute rubbish but just got on with it.

I had my first call appointment with the midwife today who asked me how I was getting on with the antibiotics which of course I was oblivious too. Then was told I had a really bad water infection and should be on antibiotics immediately.

I’m so annoyed that I spent all day chasing and ended up having to call 111 as the EPU and doctors were a waste of time.

Please tell me that my sickness could potentially be a symptom of this UTI as I’m fed up of feeling so poorly. 9+5 today!

Yes a uti can make you feel horrendous, or aggregate how you are feeling.

But yes, I've found I always have to be super on top of my own care/ health.

That's still very shit that they tested you and then messed up. At least it's getting caught now? But again, it's shit.

Your me sounds fairly on top of the ball though!!

And in the past I've had a terrible time trying to get AB for uti (though not while pregnant). So seems like something that is generally seen as a 'woman's' problem and not taken all that seriously.

Hi op, in the same boat. I am 8 weeks and havnt kept a pick of food down for 2 full weeks. Went to my gp and she tested my sample, it was full of infection. I had put the vomiting and extreme fatigue down to being week 6/7 as I was sick with both my other pregnancies.
3 days on antibiotics and all traces of sickness and most of the fatigue have gone.
People are to quick to blame any unusual symptoms on early pregnancy. Luckily my gp picked up on the kidney infection immediately.
Hope you feel better soon. X
