Is this normal? I have pain in my kidney area/upper back, I'm 10+5 weeks. I had this last time I was pregnant which was actually a missed miscarriage. It's like a bruised feeling 🥴

It could be a UTI/kidney infection/kidney stone or could be a pulled muscle.

Have you contacted your midwife or GP?

@sarahjsdddd I have had the same for a few days now (11+3 days today), I've told the docs who want to do a UTI check, they've prescribed me a course of meds anyways regardless.

Upper back pain is like a dull ache that radiates backwards and worse when I lie down, I also feel sick after eating and am constipated, I think it's indigestion/heartburn, the doc said to try gaviscon and see if that helps, I'm also slightly short of breath. I'm changing my diet at the same time, hope this helps.

@sarahjsdddd I forgot to add, I has a private scan on Thursday and it was all fine xxx

This is so strange as I think I've had the same. Its a pain (almost like a muscle pain) mid back and its quite uncomfortable. I've noticed I get it mainly in the evening and usually after I eat. So I think its heartburn.. some did say to me though as everything is becoming more flexible because of the hormones- it could be aches and pains related to that.

Get your kidneys checked. Kidney infections can be very dangerous in pregnancy. GP or midwife can check.

Ugh this sounds so familiar! Every evening a sharp pain at the bottom of my shoulder blade after I've eaten. Tried gaviscon last night but they made no difference. Going to ring GP and just check tomorrow as apparently it can be related to your gallbladder and is more prevalent in pregnancy.

Thanks all for the replies! I don't think it's a uti I've had so many and I know what it's like :( this is very strange sensation also seems to get worse after I've been for a bowel movement Sad
