Prolonged bleeding at early pregnancy

Hello! I have been bleeding for 9 days now at 4w5d usually brown or black but also some fresh, light red spotting. I'm so worried. My hcg levels are increasing but my GP encouraged me to get an ultrasound at 6 weeks to make sure they see an activity, that means another 2 weeks of waiting for me. I had a miscarriage 11 months ago and I'm so scared it might happen again. Has anyone experienced this? Many thanks.

I haven't experienced the prolonged bleeding but I'm currently 5w1d and I had an episode of heavy bleeding (I thought it was my period coming) last week. My hcg levels are also increasing so I'm not really sure what's going on.
It's a good sign the levels are going up.
I know it can be normal to get spotting/bleeding this early on

Hi coffeewithmilk. I also had a moderate bleeding which looked like a period after a heavy HIIT workout one day and I thought it was my period. But then it started to lighten significantly over the next 2 days and I decided to just do a preg test although I was not convinced I was, but lo and behold it was positive! So I wasn't even on my 4 weeks when I found out. But spotting hasn't stopped and it only happens more when I wipe myself after a pee. I hope both of our pregnancies goes well. Let's keep praying and hope for the best!

I had bleeding at 6 weeks with DS. Only a day or two but scary.

I’ve had quite a bit of on/off bleeding with this pregnancy. Mainly brown/very light pink. Started at around 9 weeks and turned out to be a haematoma. I’m 12 weeks now and has settled down.

I know it’s really tough but do try not to worry. I’ve resigned myself to bleeding in pregnancy being somewhat normal x

I had a heavy red bleed at 5,5 weeks, and thought it was over. A scan showed it was a SCH, I did very little in terms of activity over the next 3-4 weeks until a scan showed it had cleared up. Forums say to drink lots too.

Started exercise again after 12 weeks and all great now at 22 weeks!

Take care!

Thanks for the responses! I really hope this baby sticks well. We consider this a miracle baby cos we are already in the process of starting IVF but just before I started treatment, I found out I'm pregnant! So praying that this isn't another miscarriage.

@Jyvon hoping everything turns out good for both of us. Keeping my fingers crossed all will be ok 🤞🏻
