I'm 38 weeks, and just today seem to have trapped a nerve or something in my lower back, pelvis area. It's happened all of a sudden and I can hardly put any weight on it or move my leg. Has anyone else had this? Apart from putting a hot water bottle on the area, is there anything else I could do to ease it?

Hi I'm only 21 weeks and have had Sciatica for the last few weeks, you can take paracetamol if it's really bad, sleep with a pillow in between ur legs (place between Knees down to ankles) when ur sat on the sofa try and keep ur legs raised and not sit or lie on the effected side, ur midwife might be able to refer u to physio or u might be able to self refer, the pain should go once baby is here xx

I really feel for you as I'm exactly the same. Had this since 37 weeks (now 39.5), and have had to get crutches from the physio as couldn't put any weight on my leg!
I was given the following stretches : www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/sciatica-pain-stretches
Also ice or heat the area. Its worth calling the midwife or self referral physio if its bad :) I've also been to the swimming pool the last couple of days which seems to have helped loads! Hang in there X

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll definitely do the stretches in the morning, and keeping heat on it until then. I've had back and pelvic ache throughout most of the pregnancy but today it's almost like something just clicked, and all of a sudden I'm in agony
