Hi everyone, I’m new here. Just at my 9th or 10th week of pregnancy. Tonight I ate some pop-corns that weren’t fully popped, meaning there were still some semi-hard kernels in the popcorn (not sure if I’m getting the idea across) they have been in the cupboard for a while and looked a bit dehydrated but I checked the expiration date and they were fine, after about 10 minutes I ate them my stomach started hurting and I had to run to the bathroom and I had diarrhea, I felt also really nauseous but no vomit, I’m now going so paranoid, do you think I had food poisoning?

I forgot to say, that I cooked the pop-corn myself from plain kernels

Im not sure you can get food poisoning from kernels? I doubt it tbh, could it just be in your head?

I don’t think either but I’ve been having stomachache since I ate them 😕😕😕 maybe indigestion?

Pop corn is healthy and a huge amount of fibre, which is good for you. But probably why you had to go to the toilet. You'll be fine Smile

Have you eaten much else today? If you ate them on an empty stomach maybe it was just a bit too much for your digestion? Have you had much sickness in your pregnancy? Maybe they just didn’t agree with you.
Try and keep hydrated and if it continues get some advice from NHS 111 (assuming you are in the UK).

I had them a few hours after dinner, I just think they didn’t sit well in my stomach maybe because they were a bit hard and chewy since they were sitting in the cupboard for a while and my stomach felt upset... I only went to the bathroom once but now I just have a mild stomachache.. I’ve had all sort of things in this first trimester. Covid-19 and fainting while having my blood test done, I think this baby is made of pure iron. 😅 yes I am in the uk thank you so much for the advice

Ah fiber! That could also be the cause actually, I have noticed my body has a bit of difficulties breaking down the fibers, I had very imbarassing (thankfully home alone) gas problems after eating a bowl of oats and also a stomachache after eating broadbeans, all these three things have lots of fibers Shock
