Twins but only one heartbeat

I had an early scan today, I'm 7wks 1 day. There were two sacs withe two babies. One was smaller and they couldn't see a heartbeat, the other had a heartbeat and they were happy with it.

I've to go back in a week to see if there is a heartbeat on the second baby so I guess I'm just looking for people's success stories!

This is a much wanted and waited for baby so I'm overjoyed with just one but two would make my life I think!

I have no useful advice or experience sorry but didn’t want to just read and not say anything.

Hope everything works out well for you OP.

I’m sure somebody will be along soon with something more useful!

Not exactly the same but I have twins and 1 was missed at an early scan at 6-7w. They saw one embryo and Hb and a shadow that they thought was an undeveloped egg sac. I found out u had 2 at 12 weeks when it was very clear. They are now 7. However I think vanishing twin, where one doesn't develop is quite common but you never know!

No experience but sending you good wishes for a second heartbeat at the next scan!

Congrats!! I had vanishing twin syndrome.. two heart beats visible at 6 and 9 week scans. Went for 12 week scan and one had stopped growing around week 10.
Currently fighting with my 5 year old to get into bed now 😂 no other problems in pregnancy other than he was born at 36+4

@Queenbee95

Thanks good to know as the midwife had said to me it can but it's not likely to cause problems to the viable pregnancy but it spooked me a bit!
