Diarrhoea in early pregnancy (sorry tmi)

Hello :)

So yesterday I believe my sickness kicked in... although I had horrendous loose stalls (sorry) and still am today along with nausea.

I have also woken up this morning with a lack of breast tenderness.... I'm just over 5 weeks...

Anyone else experienced this?

Yes with both my pregnancies which both ended shortly after in miscarriage. Sorry, not the answer you want to hear. It could be different for you. Speak to your midwife and take another pregnancy test to see if the line is lighter or hopefully darker than when you last checked. Good luck!

I had extreme diarrhoea everyday approximately weeks 5 to 8 in both pregnancies. I think for me it's a normal (and very rubbish) reaction to hormones. There's loads of posts on here about it so I don't think it's unusual. It's awful, though, it definitely made me feel even sicker than I felt otherwise.

I would just like to say after the PP that what your describing isn't a typical sign of mc, so please don't panic. I've had 3 MCs and didn't have any of the symptoms you have. The midwife also told me that a lack of symptom doesn't mean anything (plus you have sickness which is a good sign, although annoying I can imagine!)

At 5 weeks or so you won't have a midwife yet, but do speak to GP if you're worried (I don't think it sounds like you should be). Of course pregnancy and losses are different for every woman

I had this for a good week after my BFP. TMI I normally get a bit poopy when AF arrives so I think it’s hormone related. It settled quite quick x

Yes, I had this along with morning sickness. I heard it's very normal - just like if you were sick for any other reason, you'd probably get some diarrhoea also. I think also normal for breast tenderness to be up and down, I was constantly prodding mine for the first 12 weeks and worrying that they weren't sore anymore then the next day they'd be agony! It's so hard but try not to worry too much.

This was my experience too, this was a normal part of early pregnancy for me.

Thank you so much ladies. I'm a natural worrier any way!

It also seems that my dates were out by a week. I had a scan last week due to pain and they could only see thickened lining, no pregnancy , so did bloods etc which doubled then a scan today which showed a sac and yolk so I must only be 5/6 weeks!

It's one worry after the next!

Yep I did on and off for the first trimester, don't think it's particularly unusual. I've always assumed it's a reaction to hormone change as I have frequently had it as a side effect of my period as well. Don't think it's anything to worry about Smile

So with DS (now 9 months) I had HG so sick as a dog but my bowels were never impacted. Not once. I was totally fine.

This pregnancy (currently 12 weeks) I’ve been less sick but had my bowels have been all over. Bit of constipation, bit of diarrhoea. Currently they’re pencil thin and coming out like stinky stringy Mr Whippy. Honestly it’s just a total mess in my digestive system but I’m pretty sure in pregnancy everything is normal.

3rdtimelucky2019 · 04/12/2020 16:39

I'm 10+3 and until 9 weeks I had the worst bowels of my life (4-9 weeks) going up to 10 times a day. So much so I've put zero weight on first trimester. I've also have two miscarriages in the past and it's categorically not a sign of miscarriage.

Dougal88 · 04/12/2020 17:48

My tummy is constantly gurgling, I'm feeling quite poorly with it and my appetite completely vanished

Its AWFUL, OP, I feel for you - but I don't think it means anything is wrong. Pregnancy is just really hard!! Flowers

JLM1008 · 04/12/2020 19:33

I had terrible loose stools and still do at 22wks! I think it’s just some people’s reactions to the hormones.

Dougal88 · 04/12/2020 19:54

Is dioralyte safe to take? I can't find much information!

It could be the hormones, or could be a bug. Just watch out for Covid symptoms too. Hydration hydration and call the doc if you're worried.

feistymumma · 04/12/2020 22:02

Pretty normal I think. I've had two bouts of loose stools so far and am approximately seven weeks
