To write the gender down?

I was planning on trying to do a gender reveal with just me, DH & DC. DH can't come to the scan as he's the only childcare we have.
So I was going to ask the sonographer if they could write it down for me and take it to a balloon place.
However someone's just told me they won't write it down.
Has anyone been declined this?

As in so you don't see it either?

Nhs don’t tend to write it down as there’s always a chance it could be wrong. Some nhs scans won’t even tell you the sex, that’s why there’s now so many private scan places. You may be best calling and asking.

If it's one you're paying for then I do believe they're happy to do this if requested. Perhaps take a piece of paper and an envelope with you.

Ours wrote it down earlier this week and provided the envelope! We also have got free pics! She was really lovely. We had free scan pics at 12 wks to as we had a student take part in the ultrasound.

Each to their own and maybe this is not an option but we found finding out at the birth an amazing experience. Can DP be at the birth?

My hospital doesn't write down - big signs telling people not to ask.

@SummerHouse we're not sure yet, think we might have to have a home birth 🤦

Private clinics only write down the sex because you will have signed comprehensive ts and cs which include lots of caveats that sexing is an objective medical opinion and that they make no guarantees.

Hey cats there is a lot to be said for home births. All the best of luck. I think they will probably write it down but if not, maybe your big reveal will be at the birth and honestly, it's so, so exciting this way.

They do just depends on the midwife scanning and if your baby is in view
