I would love to get other people’s thoughts on this.
The time line of events:

  • First private scan at 8 weeks was told twins and they weren’t fully sure if identical or not
  • Had NIPT blood test at 10 weeks came back just saying Female and so had a mini gender reveal as had heard this is almost never wrong
  • Had an NHS scan at 12 weeks and they were not sure if identical or not. No gender identified.
  • put the two ‘nub shots’ on another forum and it was almost 50:50 ratio (30 each) of Girl/Girl and Girl/Boy guesses. Obv that all they are but interesting it was so close as I thought it would me mainly Girl/Girl
  • Had NHS scan at 15+5 and a Senior Consultant (of 25 years) said she’s pretty sure they’re BOYS or a BOY and put them as identical MCDA
  • Had a private scan exactly on 16 weeks to find out more and she confirmed they are DCDA so non identical but put them both as girls
  • scan from that shows two very different looking vaginas to me (attached)
Could one just be a swollen labia etc? I know blood tests are prob right but there’s just a few things saying Boy and my gut feeling it’s one of each Please see latest scan of each twin and see what you think. Thanks

I personally would try not to worry about the gender too much, I know it's exciting to find out early or ask if they can have a look at each scan but there is some room for error always, just buy some neutral bits - at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, especially when they are tiny
