Yes, but you might have to let the bottom end hang over the edge.

Yes I did, but some sleeping bags are for babies 10lb and upwards and by that time they are almost too big for the moses basket.

I wouldn't be without my sleeping bags for DC's though they are great.

The new (upto about a year old now) newborn GroBags have an indicated weight of 7lb and up - they adjust under the arms with poppers.

We used them with DD (9lb 12 at birth) in a moses basket from about a week through till she outgrew it about a month later. Worked fine

I was told by mothercare no as they cause overheating when you fold the end back in the basket iyswim

i did with all three of mine - and in terms of overheating - two of those were summer babes in Australia!! No problems - just put them to bed in short baby gro and summer weight bag.
