Sick following induction

Anybody shed any light on these symptoms? I was induced in the early hours of last Tuesday morning and had baby about three hours later. No drugs or instruments. One small tear. Afterwards I started with this raging thirst and my hands, legs and feet swelled up. Thought it would go away but seemed to get worse and worse. Had terrible after pains and cramping but again thought to be expected. Friday night I ended up in an ambulance after collapsing. Took me back to maternity where I was on a drip for two days and iv antibiotics. They said the bloods suggested I had an infection ‘somewhere’. One leg also bigger than the other so they gave me blood thinners. Discharged myself last night as B.P. / temp was normal and they were switching me to oral antibiotics. Passed a difficult night still cramping but mostly the terrible thirst. Im drinking gallons and gallons of water but it doesn’t help. I’m not breastfeeding so it’s not that.

That is a really scary experience. I really hope you feel better soon. How are you doing now?
I am sorry I have no experience to share. I am going to be induced in 2 weeks.

@MnM156 thanks. I'm a bit weak but better than I was. Why are they inducing you? I'm not sure I did absolutely the right thing going for the induction with hindsight but baby is here safe and well so suppose that's all that matters

@batteriesgoing
My baby is very small for his gestational age. He is growing but is still very small so they want to take him out sooner so that he can grow better outside.

@batteriesgoing did they check for a retained placenta? Even the smallest bit can cause problems!
