The heading says it all - god this is it can be murderously itchy. I've had "lesions" or "a fissure" before but all the recieved the wisdom says leave it alone, keep clean and dont touch - but since I'm pg wonder if I shoudl get some cream????

You have my complete sympathy. Go to your GP - they can give you stronger stuff than Anusol etc that you can get at the chemist. Soooooo worth doing. What a total - literal - PITA. Hope it improves.

Bluntly - if you have a pile get get into a nice hot bath and pop the bugger back in.

Advise I rec'd from a vascular surgeon.

If you have piles go and see a doctor!

I dont know if it is a pile - um I had a look and there is a kind of TAG - its eased by a hot bath tho. Gawd help me if/when full-blown piles come along (crosses fingers)Thanks all.

If its a internal pile it will hang out like a grape.

You could have 'cauliflower' anus, like when it all goes baggy after a bad contsipation poo. The best thing to do is tackle the constipation .

I have twice a day, shreddedwheat with, probiotic yoghut and with warm water and loads of milk. Also drink water, avoid tea and coffee. Walk for at least 25 mins a day, eat water rich fruit like water melon, peaches and mangos.

Ive manged to cure mine and the 'cauli' bum has receeded. TMI TMI

I finally plucked up the courage to go to the GP last week. I had what I believed were piles but they weren't painful only incredibly itchy (especially at night - sorry TMI!). Anyway, though it appears that I have remnants of piles (a couple of tags) not active ones, the cause of the terrible itching is a type of fungal infection. I was given Timodine cream (which I think is OK to use when pg) and told to keep the area really dry. Have used it for two days so far and haven't felt the itching/scratching urge at night at all.
I'd really recommend getting it checked - I should have gone months ago - the difference just overnight is incredible.

Thanks mejon, that's closer to what I have tho right now it seems to have calmed down. Fingers crossed!
