Unstable Lie 37+5

Baby is breech, I’m 37+5 and likely having an elective c-section at 39+2 if baby hasn’t turned. However I think he moves from breech to transverse as sometimes I’m sure I can feel his head at the left side (transverse) and then other times more at the top (breech). I had a scan last Sunday he’s extended/frank breech and I’m due another scan next Sunday. I’m just worried as I’ve read up on an unstable lie and the risk of cord prolapse. If I call up the maternity unit and request another scan before next weekend to confirm position are they likely to agree? I did call yesterday and they did put my mind somewhat at ease but it’s still niggling away that if my waters broke it could be really serious if the cord did prolapse. I think I worry anyway but I just want baby here safe and it’s really not long to go now at all. Sometimes I think I don’t want to call and pester them but if it’s a genuine concern I’m going to just go with my gut instinct and I’d like another scan before next weekend. Any advice? Xx

When’s your next appointment with a modwife? If it’s in the next few days you could wait and talk it through with her. Otherwise yes call, if you say you’re worried baby is transverse they should arrange to see you at least, plus scan if baby does feel transverse. Do you know what to do if a cord prolapse happens? Extremely unlikely but you may feel more calm if you have a plan?
