Weight loss at 23 weeks

So I've had hyperemesis which has faded into more normal sickness. Still throwing up 3 or so times a day. But I'm able to keep down 2 meals a day and some snacks. I lost over a stone with the hyperemesis and since then have put on maybe a few lbs. However, just weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lbs. Bump growth looks great (actually looks bigger than my first pregnancy). Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar with a little weight loss and just looking for reassuring words maybe? I'm not the sort of person to run to a midwife first.

Ive had hyperemesis every pregnancy and have alway lost more weight than I ever put on. Dc2 made me eat trifles towards the end as well.

I would say its probably okay but if you're concerned, and you must be to write this, contact your midwife just for more reassurance.

I’ve got hyperemisis at the moment and am 25 weeks. I checked about the weight loss with the drs when admitted to hospital last week. I’ve lost 2stone and they said that’s perfectly normal for the diagnosis. The midwives do measurements of the babies at each scan to check it isn’t affecting their growth but generally the dr said it will make you feel terrible but the babies are almost never affected so they said not to worry at all. Good luck with keeping things down!

I lost a fair amount of weight during my second pregnancy. After dd was born I weighed less than I did before pregnancy!

Thanks for replying all, I'm seeing my midwife in a couple of weeks so will mention it then. The last thing I want is my babies growth being affected. I think I will probably end up weighing less at 40 weeks than I did pre pregnancy.

I didn't have hyperemesis but I wasn't far off and had sickness during most of my pregnancy it was particularly bad during the first and third trimesters.
I started to lose weight again as I started my third trimester and had to find ways to either bump up the calories in what I could eat or add in an extra snack depending on how bad my sickness was on any given day.
