Fun pregnancy announcement?

Its still very early days, I'm only approximately 8 weeks, but I've started thinking about how to announce my pregnancy to my children.

DS is only 18 months so he won't understand anyway, but DD who is 8 would appreciate a bit of a fun way to announce.

When I was pregnant with DS we told DD on her birthday by giving her a present from "the baby" put the scan photo in the card and signed it "from your baby brother or sister" she still mentions it now so I'd love to make this announcement nice for her as well and try to include DS in some way.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

If Im reading this correctly you should be 12 weeks at christmas - correct??

How about you put a scan in a cracker with a little joke like

Knock knock
Whos there
A little girl with two younger siblings

Something like that.

Get them a tshirt that says big sister again or x2 etc that can be wrapped up. You could get a tshirt for your youngest that says big sister?

My younger sister and I got cards with "big sister" and "big big sister" on them from our baby brother when he was born. I like the idea of doing something similar to this but in Christmas cracker form like @Doublebubblebubble I still have my card 17 years later!

I told my god children (10 and 7) by getting some cupcakes made, there was one each with their names on, one that said ‘baby can’t wait to meet you’ and three with just little baby feet type decorations (pic attached but have cut their names off as outing). Then they could bite in to them to see what sex baby was (pink or blue filling). They loved it and it made for a very cute video for us to keep, too 🥰

I haven't had my scan date come through yet so I'm not sure if I'll have had the scan by Xmas day.

I do love the cracker idea and the cakes, DD is a keen baker and cake lover so that might be a good one if it's a post Xmas scan.
