Hi! :)
I am currently writing an extended project qualification during my final year at college based on how pregnancy affects a woman's mental health. If anyone is willing to help it would be greatly appreciated!

My question is: how did being pregnant change your perception of yourself or how did it impact your self esteem?

ANY answers welcome and appreciated :)

Having struggled with depression in my late teens, I was scared pregnancy would bring that back but I was pleasantly surprised that it had the opposite effect. I began to realise my importance in the world and that I quite literally was this tiny persons world and it was up to me to make sure that world was taken care of, so it really improved my diet and exercise as I knew these were important to keep me (and ultimately my baby) healthy. I have also been able to get over (for the most part) my anxiety of what people think of me, my personality, appearance etc as I'd much rather have my daughter fed, changed and happy than to spend half an hour doing my make up or straightening my hair! I feel that a smile on my daughters face distracts from the fact I'm in leggings, tshirt and a messy bun! 😂

Good luck with your course!

I'm still going through my pregnancy (24 weeks), so I guess my view might change in time.
For now, I actually feel like my self esteem is better than pre-pregnancy.
I've ended up wearing clothes I felt paranoid in previously quite happily now. I don't feel self conscious about being a bif bigger as my bump makes it obvious I'm pregnant.
Don't think my perception has changed as such...so far anyway!
