Reduced movement at 21 weeks

I'm 21+1. Since yesterday morning I've had a lot of intense stress and emotion, which would no doubt have affected my blood pressure and general state of well being.

Baby usually moves a lot in the evenings and last night he didn't move much. He's also not moved much so far today. I also had a sharp pain this morning and other shooting pains but I dismissed that as ligament pain. Should I be worried?

If you’re concerned you can always call triage or pregnancy unit. Often they say babies don’t settle into a pattern of movement until after 24 weeks. But don’t ignore if you’re worried. They’d much rather you called and put your mind at rest. X

At 21 weeks the baby is still so small that you won't feel all the movements and they are still have quite a bit of space to move.

The NHS page says you should feel first movements between 16 and 24 weeks so you are still in the window where it's not guaranteed to have felt movements.

That said, if you are concerned always phone your midwife or triage and they can decide if what you are experiencing is within normal ranges or not.

Try not to panic

If you are worried call you midwife however I would say at 21 weeks baby is still small and it’s likely the baby has just changed positions. Have you tried drinking a very very cold glass of water?
If you are worried though definitely call your midwife.

Thanks everyone. I've called and they've asked me to come in.
