I'm having my third baby, but my youngest is 6 and I've completely forgotten what I should be taking in my hospital bag for me and baby! I'll be bottle feeding as well! Thanks for some pointers!

How much of everything would you take?

I read somewhere the other day someone was taking 50 nappies!!!

I'm hoping to be in and out in a few hours...

WhoUsedMyName · 25/11/2020 16:00

I just have a small pack of newborn nappies, if you don't they will supply them

WhoUsedMyName · 25/11/2020 16:01

In an ideal world you will be in and out within a few hours but if you pack for over night stay better peace of mind

passthemustard · 25/11/2020 16:25

Might need a bigger bag 😂😂

Oneandabean · 25/11/2020 16:48

@passthemustard I’m hoping to be in and out but midwife said pack enough for 3 days.

WhoUsedMyName · 25/11/2020 17:07

@passthemustard I debating a bigger bag just for snacks 😂😂

passthemustard · 25/11/2020 18:40

@Oneandabean 3 days!! Omg

@WhoUsedMyName definitely need a separate snack bag 😂

Onsie*

The list above is pretty comprehensive although there are some things on it I wouldn’t bother with eg nail file, dry shampoo mouthwash and hair wrap.

However I wanted to add: Water bottle with a sports lid.
And if you’re planning to formula feed, take the ready to feed formula packs (the ones with the disposable teats you just screw onto the bottles of pre made formula) as there may not be anywhere you can make up formula or wash/sterilise bottles.

BatmanBaby · 26/11/2020 13:20

Thank you all so much :) The lists are really helpful!

Hi, sorry to jump on but I was about to start a similar thread.

I am planning on BF but I've had a breast reduction so need to plan to bottle feed too.

When people say come prepared with bottles, do you literally bring the powder and do it up all there, or do you mean the pre made bottles that you can buy? Do they have microwaves / kettles you can warm everything up with?

Also if you want to try and harvest colustrum, can you bring it with you and ask them to put it in a fridge?

Sorry just seen someone has mentioned pre made formula!!

I've packed for 2 days just in case as partner can't drop things off once he's left.

Baby has 6 outfits ( 3 tiny baby and 3 newborn)
3 muslin cloths
Going home outfit
2 blankets
Pack of nappies
Water wipes
3 hats
2 dummies

For me I've packed 2 nighties
1 pj's
Coming home outfit
2 socks
4 pants
12 pads
Dressing gown
Flip flops
Towel
Toiletries

That's what I can remember off the top of my head.
