Pain below right ribs

Hi all,

I'm 5+6weeks and since yesterday around midday I've had a really uncomfortable pain below my right ribs. It varies in severity depending on how much I move and how deeply i breathe. I feel like it's also quite tender to the touch but that could just be because I've been poking and prodding myself so much.

I'm due to give the gp a call at 2pm but in the meantime i wondered if anyone has any experience of this and knows what it could be?

Thank you Flowers

Hi OP. How did the GP appointment go? That is about the area of your gallbladder I think? What did they suggest?

How did you get on phoning the GP?

I'm currently 14+2 weeks and I had pain like this from a few days after finding out (I was about 5 weeks when it started) it lasted continuously for a couple of days then came and went for a week.

I was worried about possible ectopic so booked an private scan and everything was where it should be, perfectly healthy baby!

Pains are common throughout pregnancy as your body grows and adjusts. However, with it being one sided pain, get yourself checked out just to put your mind at ease

Thanks both. The GP wasn’t concerned and put it down to digestion issues. It’s actually gone away today Confused it felt so intense for two days and then just disappears!

@mariebaby3 yeah that's exactly how mine felt, every time I breathed in it was agony and was very intense! It did settle down after a few days and then came and went. As it goes it was nothing to worry about, it was just normal pregnancy pains. If it gets worse and you're worried about it phone the EPU if you can but hopefully speaking to the GP has put your mind at rest a little bit
