Hi folks

I had an early scan today as was seen on Friday with ? ectopic. Symptoms: pain, cramping, diarrhoea.

Hcg Friday 582
Hcg Sunday 1434
Scan today - thick lining, no sac. Prefnancy of unknown location (PUL).

I'm in bits.

5+4 on LMP. Ovulated day 21 so internet says nearer 4+5.

Any experiences? I've got bloods tomorrow night and a scan next Monday.

What did the hospital say are they going to scan you in a week or so ? Hopefully it's just to early to see anything, I didn't think you could see the sac until After 5 1/2 and the fetal pole until after 6 weeks, so fingers crossed u are just to early to see anything xx

NamechangeTTC · 23/11/2020 11:51

Bloods tomorrow.
Rescan monday.

If you’ve ovulated late as you think and you’re 4 + 5 it’s normal for them not to see anything yet. Hopefully in a weeks time they can see the sac so please keep yourself as relaxed as possible (easier said than done, I know). You can’t do anything about it unfortunately and it’s a waiting game so 🤞🤞 for you xx
Your hcg has more than doubled in 48hr-I thought this is what it’s expected to do?

88bowie · 23/11/2020 12:49

Fingers crossed for u for Monday, wee bean just needs time to grow and with ur hcg going up also looks promising

NamechangeTTC · 23/11/2020 14:41

Pic one - when they assume I ovulated

Pic two - when I think I ovulated.

They said there's a thickened lining. No sac.

I think they've attached in a weird order.

I’ve had lots of scans at 5 weeks ish, they don’t expect to see a sac until levels are over 6,500, your bloods are doubling normally, try not to worry. Do you still have pain?

Littlestlily · 23/11/2020 14:59

Sending hugs Flowers

NamechangeTTC · 23/11/2020 15:17

@Littlestlily doctor said they'd see over 1000. Couldn't see anything except thicker lining.

Pain eased.

Sounds like it’s just too early to see anything, tbh. My hospital wouldn’t scan if

NamechangeTTC · 23/11/2020 18:17

I've been getting told all day that people's were visible at 4 weeks ish so I'm heartbroken

Transabdominal failed so they went transvaginal. I don't think I can cope with another week.

No advice, but sending you a hug OP. Good luck for next week. Flowers

There’s a thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1908260-Just-had-a-scan-at-4-5-weeks-and-they-couldnt-see-anything?pg=2
Where a lady has had the same, she went back and saw a fetal pole and sac.
The scans I’ve had at 5.5 weeks there’s only been a very tiny sac, so I would think at 4.5 weeks it wouldn’t have been visible yet.
My very excellent consultant told me that sonographers sometimes aren’t used to doing such early scans, so wouldn’t necessarily be able to recognise much. Try not to worry, I know it’s so hard, your bloods look great , I would imagine also in an ectopic, the pain would continue or get worse x

NamechangeTTC · 24/11/2020 06:38

@Littlestlily thank you ❤️

We had a sonographer in training who quickly passed us over to the supervisor. She tried abdominally first.

This week is torture. I'm now 19dpo and have a dye stealer.

Hcg bloods again tonight.

That's not quite correct. A sac should be visible over around 1500 and it's 6000 when the earliest heartbeat can be seen

Mummysgonetobed · 24/11/2020 06:47

Sorry you’re in this situation op, hopefully your bloods yesterday will be reassuring.
My last pregnancy was suspected ectopic and I was scanned at 5+2 and they saw nothing. My bloods that day were around 2,500. Had a second scan a week later fully expecting to have miscarried and they saw the teeniest of sacs (like 3mm or something) but no fetal pole. Had a scan a week after that and finally saw a baby with heartbeat. My dates were off the whole pregnancy from what I thought.
I’m assuming they didn’t see a sac in your tubes?
Fingers crossed for a good outcome for you.

NamechangeTTC · 24/11/2020 07:32

@ivfbeenbusy so I should have been 1500 yesterday so that doesn't fill me with hope. They said there was a thick endometrial lining and "hints" but nothing they could identify as baby.

@Mummysgonetobed thank you for sharing. That's some positive news.

I just don't understand how there was nothing there.

calimommy · 24/11/2020 17:26

I'm so sorry @NamechangeTTC Ive had three losses and although they've all been for different reasons, they all hurt. I know you don't have a definite answer yet and I'm hopeful for a positive outcome for you. In my experience strong symptoms and positive tests are not necessarily a reassuring element. However stage you have been scanned at is such a 50:50 time, it's so early that things can go either way. Good luck x

mollieangel123 · 24/11/2020 21:26

Please try not to stress I'm in the exact position as you are!

I am roughly 5weeks and 5 days from LMP I had a early scan a week before and I was told pregnancy of unknown too with only being seen of a thickening lining

I then went back two days ago and they seen a sac a yolk and a possible embryo but no heart beat as yet and I'm booked in again Monday too. I know it's so hard to stay positive I broke down in the EPU as the stress of unknown is unbearable isn't it

Seei your post puts me a little bit more at ease as we're not alone and maybe that makes it normal? ❤️

NamechangeTTC · 24/11/2020 21:48

Thanks @mollieangel123 I’m hoping for good news for you. I’m waiting on tonight’s HCG results.

OP posts:
mollieangel123 · 25/11/2020 10:35

@NamechangeTTC have you had your results yet sorry been thinking of you xx

NamechangeTTC · 25/11/2020 10:55

Yeah. 1434 to 2051 so not ideal
Scan 140.

OP posts:
mollieangel123 · 25/11/2020 11:01

Sending you hugs and luck! Let me know how your scan goes will be thinking of you xxx

NamechangeTTC · 25/11/2020 14:28

There’s a gestational sac, and a yolk sac.

No more bloods. Getting too stressed.

What will be will be.

OP posts:
88bowie · 25/11/2020 15:06

Op is that not good ? That they can now see a sac and looks like things are progressing? Are they going to scan you again ?
