Hi I have been bleeding on and off for weeks. Ranging from pink to brown. Never enough to fill a pad beyond a few spots. This is my first pregnancy and I'm now between 10 - 11 weeks.

Epu don't want to know. Just keep saying come back when it's really heavy.

My doctors tell me to get over my fear of miscarriage.

I'm at my wits end I just can't carry on like this!!

Sorry that you're struggling. I've had spots of blood nearly every day from 13 weeks and still happening now at 16+4. Only when I wipe. Had a private scan and everything is fine. No idea what's causing it either and it's driving me mad worrying all the time too.

So frustrating that EPU won't see you. Could you get a private scan to reassure you? They're about £50-60

A private scan could be an option if you need reassurance - have you checked that out?

Book yourself a private scan and save yourself the heartache. EPU are heartless you have to be near gushing blood and doubled over in pain to get an appointment with them! Im 16 weeks pregnant and have bleed this pregnancy and didnt in my last one. It had clots and tissue like texture once and was sure I had miscarried. I booked an early scan and she noticed the placenta had just started to attach and grown and it was over the cervix which can cause you to bleed. At my 12 week scan in hospital the placenta had moved and i havnt bled since!

I bled for 6 weeks straight. Light and heavy bleeds throughout. The hospital kept telling me I was having a threatened miscarriage which was awful. I know how upsetting not knowing can be.

Just know, it can be okay. My boy is 8 weeks old now and I'm desperately trying to get him to go to sleep!

After my bleeding stopped, I went on to have the smoothest pregnancy ever.

When is your 12 week scan booked in for? I absolutely found a private scan to be the most reassuring thing.

I hope everything goes okay for you

Please don’t worry yet! It could be something but it could also be nothing. I bled from (I think) week 3 to week 10 in my first pregnancy. My doctor told me I was “probably miscarrying” and sent me home - she didn’t give a shit! But luckily everything was fine (he is nearly 3 now). I did end up getting a private early scan at nearly 8 weeks and the sonographer said there was no sign of blood in the uterus so it was probably caused by irritation of the cervix. If you can, I recommend doing the same if only to reassure yourself.

Sitchervice · 23/11/2020 07:31

@Ajahd my 12 week is booked for 8th of December.

Thanks guys I do feel a little more reassured. I'll go for a private, see if I can get one today even.

Im finding the NHS to be so heartless. There are things they can check to see if ik bleeding from my cervix. Or they could at least scan me and tell me to be prepared if it is going wrong!

They keep saying because everything was fine at 7 weeks then they have no reason to scan me!

I managed to get a private scan done today. Which was rare. Did cost me £70 apposed to 60. But all looks well. The bleeding is not coming from the baby or my uterus at all

That’s really good news 😀

alfieum · 23/11/2020 14:25

That's such good news. I was having this and I put myself on bed rest for two weeks. A bit of a pain in terms of kids but I WFH and got a bit of help with school runs. The bleeding was getting worse when I was moving about. After a couple of weeks it stopped. A few women i spoke with have had the same experience. The NHS said it was unnecessary but I feel like it made a huge difference. I hope that the rest of your pregnancy goes well, sounds like you had reat news from the scan.
