Tail bone problems

Over the past week I’ve developed a new ‘side effect’ my tail bone feels like someone has kicked me up the arse.... repeatedly.

I’ve got an appointment with the midwife tomorrow (28 weeks) so will mention it but for now normal or not normal?

DC1 was a dream pregnancy with no symptoms/pains etc so this is all very new Confused

I didn't have this in pregnancy but my tail bone moved during delivery and 6 months on it's now only painful if I sit on a hard surface for any length of time. Have a chat I'm with your midwife to check all is ok, I think there are exercises they can recommend but mine were only given to me post pregnancy.

Oh, you can buy coccyx cushions on Amazon which might help if sitting is painful.

Normal I'd say.

I had this badly as part of my spd (or whatever it's called now)

I suffered mostly with my sacrum and coccyx rather than the symphysis pubis area.

Second pregnancy was worse since first baby was huge (almost 11lb) and damaged coccyx on way out.

It's better now though several years post part I'm. Smile

Thank-you!

Will definitely look at the pillow, as it’s like a sharp pain up the bone every time I sit down.

Hmmm purring I also had a large baby but by EMCS so no damage on the way out but I wonder if there is a connection?

Will mention it tomorrow but happy (can’t think of another word) that it can be pregnancy related.

P.S thanks for spelling coccyx for me Wink

It's seems likely it's connected.

I have a theory on SPD type pain and why it doesn't affect everyone. It's about loosening up.

I grow big babies and both times I've had bad pains in my pelvis/ coccyx sacrum etc.

It's as if the body is loosening everything up to allow the large baby to exit safely.

I am having terrible trouble with my sacroiliac joint. Chiropractor is the only thing that's really helped so far. Physio, stretches and paracetamol have been useless.
