Hey all
Sorry I know there have been lots of discussions on NIPT but I haven’t been able to find an answer. I had NIPT tests done and they’ve rung to say results are negative but not really given any more information. They’ve sent the results through which says feral fraction 6% - I’ve foolishly googled and that seems to be too low to give a result? Has anyone had a similar result?
Thank you x

I just checked my result which was from the fetal medical centre London. My fetal fraction was 6.3pc.

Each lab/service has its own cut off for fetal fraction. If it’s too low they simply won’t report a result. As a rule of thumb, anything over 4% is usually fine and some labs can do it with lower FF. Your results sound very reassuring. Let me know if I can helpwith anything else :)

Yes, I believe anything over 4% then they can work with otherwise would be redrawn. The fraction varies from person to person and week by weeks. Mine was done @10+5 and it was 8.2%

So sorry everyone, I didn’t get a notification of the replies! Oh that’s reassuring to hear. I didn’t expect to understand the results but I should know better than to start googling!
