Pram / Travel system suggestions

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I've had to buy for a newborn (DS is 11) and I've started looking at travel systems.

I'm looking at a lightweight travel system where the seat detatchs from the pram frame onto a 360 car base?

Does this exist or have a made it up in my head 🤦‍♀️

Following as i would like something similar and after a peek at some i'm overwhelmed by so many choices!!

I'm pretty sure the 360 carseats are fixed to the base, you could look at an infant carrier which is isofixed to the car though?

I think, by their nature, a 360 car seat is built into the base, and can't be removed. Most prams, it seems, you can get a stage 0 car seat bundle as part of a bundle. You can get a rotating car seat once they're stage 1+.

As for lightweight stage zero car seats, I really liked the Nuna Pipa Lite LX I had. Extremely light, yet sturdy. Only downside was that you had to always use the base in the car. There was no way to clip it in with a seat belt.

As for the pram itself.... I have the Nuna Mixx. Not especially light, and doesn't fold one handed, but gets the job done. I can fit a hell of a lot of shopping into its basket though. Most travel systems will come with an array of adapters to fit most car seats, so you can mix and match according to your requirements.

Hope that helps a little.

The cybex cloud z is 360 and can be used with travel systems and the yo-yo. The car seat isn’t the lightest, but I didn’t find it a problem.

PollyRoe16 · 20/11/2020 21:55

360 car seats can't be attached to travel systems unfortunately.

We have the Mamas & Papas Occaro which is great! Not the lightest thing in the world but you can get a lot of deals on bundles that include the car seat ☺️

PollyRoe16 · 20/11/2020 21:57

I stand corrected thanks to @somanyquestions20
Handy to know they exist for next time ☺️

Another one for the cybex, plus it's lie flat so double whammy. I'm going for the easy twist pram base. I wanted the yoyo but I wanted something still lightweight, but could handle tougher terrain. The other option is the baby jogger. Not the prettiest so super functional!

Bubble77bee · 20/11/2020 22:21

We had the cybex cloud z car seat that attaches to the buggy or the swivel isofix base. For a buggy, we have the Uppa baby vista, and I can’t fault it.

There’s also the Recaro zero.1 elite and salia elite. Both car seats are swivel up to 4(ish), and have removable infant carriers so can attach to pushchairs using an interim adaptor recaro sells which attached to maxi Cosi adaptors Smile

We have just brought the cloud z car seat which is a 360 and also reclines. As far as I'm aware that's the only one available, though I feel like I may have seen an advert for a maxi cosi one on social media this week. We have brought an oyster 3 travel system which it will apparently connect to. Not actually tried it yet though as baby not due for two weeks yet!

EnidMatilda · 20/11/2020 23:16

Yes cybex. I would class it as heavy though.

Cally222 · 20/11/2020 23:29

I have just brought the ickle bubba globe reviews look great and its very compact fold without losing a sturdy expensive look. I got the whole travel system for £450 with black friday deal on bases (brought 2 bases) and a voucher i searched ickle bubba vouchers and got an additional 10% off. Hopefully its a good as it looks and reviews say and I wont be returning it lol

IamC · 21/11/2020 04:19

@Cally222 we've just got a great early Black Friday deal on an ickle bubba too. We tried it a few weeks ago and we were really impressed with how easy and light it was.

Cally222 · 21/11/2020 07:46

@IamC oh good!! Im so excited to get it hahah!

Haven't used it yet but this combination is exactly what we have bought too Smile
