Impossible dates at early scan

So I decided to go for a private early scan to put my mind at ease. I was 7+4 on the day of my early scan. Im pretty sure of my dates as I always track periods etc. The scan dated me as only 6+1 which is 10 days behind my dates. I found out I was pregnant when I was only 3+4 so if going by the early scan dates I would have found out I was preg at about 2 weeks which is impossible.

Im so confused and in a bit of a panic about it. We saw a little heartbeat which is great.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?

An early scan at that stage isn't that accurate for dates, that's why you have a dating scan around 12 weeks because it's more accurate. You might find at your next scan it will change again, that's very common and has happened to me in most of my pregnancies.

It's not very accurate that early on. I had a can when I should've been 7+4 and was told I was measuring between 5-6. By my 12 week scan baby had caught up.

@addler Ah thank you for that, hoping its the same with this little one.. Il just stick to my own dates then. 12 week scan is on 21st Dec so fingers crossed its all good news

I had this. There's no way my dates could add up. But, I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my healthy, but impossible baby

I got a bfp about 9 days earlier than possible.

Same with my first pregnancy- but in reverse, I didn't get a bfp until I was 10 days late. But the baby measured spot on for lmp.

It's not an exact science so really don't worry just yet

You will get a more accurate date on your dating scan I got told a date on my early scan and when I went back for dating scan at 12 weeks I got a different due date to what I had before 👶🏻

Same here. I'm now 34 weeks pregnant with a baby that I apparently conceived on the last day of my period... makes no sense to me but there you are!
