Just that really... everyone’s different, was just wondering what your symptoms were when carrying a boy/girl?
I’m 18+5 will be finding out on Monday, although I would love to have a girl, I just want a healthy baby & that’s what’s more important.

Sick with one, not with the other.
Insomnia with one, not with the other
Gained the minimum of weight with one, pilled on the pounds with the other.

Both girls.

I’m 18 weeks I’ve got kids of different symptoms but I just feel like it’s a boy don’t know why but I’m almost 100% convinced it is we get to find out on the 4th of December

First one... horrific sickness, no appetite, minimal weight gain... girl.
Second... no sickness at all, ate everything in sight, ballooned to the size of a house... girl.
Third... exactly the same symptoms as no 1. Boy.

My first was a girl and I had terrible morning sickness at the beginning then didn’t have any other symptoms and put on 3 stone. My second was a boy and the morning sickness wasn’t as bad but was tired all the time had terrible acid reflux and didn’t put on much weight.

FolkSongSweet · 20/11/2020 15:59

I had no symptoms at all with my son, and every symptom going with my daughter.

First child - girl - sickness/SPD/Insomnia/Lots of water retention

Second child - boy - sickness/SPD/Heartburn/No water retention

DappledThings · 20/11/2020 16:11

Both:
Very little nausea
Some indigestion
Some breathlessness
Some insomnia
A lot of tiredness

One boy, one girl. There's zero science in basing gender predictions on pregnancy symptoms.

First, hardly any symptoms bar a bit of heartburn near the end. Craved salty food, went from hating marmite to eating it by the jar. Had a boy.

Second. Everything in the first trimester made me nauseous or vomit. Went off food, especially meat. Less heartburn, but did develop gallstones which turns out hurts more than labour without pain relief (and I've given birth without pain relief). No particular food craving. Had another boy.

Pregnant again and have pretty much the same experience so far as my second pregnancy. I suspect it's probably another boy but it makes no difference. Symptoms rarely mean much in terms of telling the sex.

Happy and no nausea with my boy.

Irritable, severe nausea and headaches with a girl.

CatchingWind · 20/11/2020 17:01

I had different symptoms with both my boys. I don't think pregnancy symptoms are indicative of the sex of the child you're carrying.

ConnellWaldron · 20/11/2020 17:04

Zero symptoms with either child, boy and girl. Not sure it makes any difference.

Highheels87 · 20/11/2020 17:45

Girls - sickness, carried high, small neat bumps, craved sweet things
Boy - no sickness, carrying low, big bump, went off meat completely

CloudyVanilla · 20/11/2020 17:53

For me I'm not so sure. I definitely had very pronounced morning sickness with my DD and I did read this is a sign of a girl due to increased hormones causing nausea, the same way oral contraceptive can cause nausea.

I did notice I was much less sick with my boy, but I actually think it might be because I was much more prepared from MS and knew what I needed to eat and drink to help minimise it.

My third was an unplanned baby on contraception. I spent a couple of weeks feeling really quite sick again and he was a boy. But because I didn't even think I could be pregnant, I wasn't eating to avoid MS and so felt much more sick.

So was it a gender thing or was it how I dealt with it! I couldn't say

My boys were a walk in the park no sickness was glowing absolutely fine - my daughter though literally sick all the way through I was moody and so spotty aswell!

Thank you for all your replies... noticed how each pregnancy was so different even if you was having the same sex child...
I had a scan today and got told I’m having a girl, she was 99% sure. She looked between the legs and said it looks like ladies parts & something about the 3 dots that represents lady parts. Not heard it before so just took her word for it.

I had the same symptoms with all 4, nausea, huge bump, sore boobs, only threw up once in each pregnancy, spd, heartburn. The only exception is a metal taste in mouth that I only had when pregnant with my 1st and this one, and ive got girl, boy, boy and another girl due soon :)
