Hi all,

So I just found out I'm pregnant probably 4-5 weeks. And I have a 4yr old going to nursery, since I found out I'm pregnant I haven't sent him back and feeling bad for it cuz he's missing out on so much..but I'm.in two minds about sending him back..am I getting too worried? We live in Scotland (west lothian), also read recently that about 20schools had an outbreak 😳.

I'm assuming you mean the risk of covid and pregnancy.
At the moment it looks like there isn’t much/any evidence to suggest that COVID-19 has much of an impact on pregnancy. A few summary points:

  • it does seem to be able to transmit vertically (mother to foetus), but there have been no reports of congenital abnormalities)
  • in a case series, only severe COVID-19 was associated with premature birth (more likely induced in order to help the mothers recovery), but it did not cause very premature births (

@calimommy thanks! I will ask the gp or the midwife I got appointed I guess. Just don't want to take any kind of risk.. because my partner and I have been trying for sometime for another baby..!
