Want to join me in symptom spotting and all of the false labour moments? Now that baby has turned and I can actually go into labour without panicking I'm starting to get quite excited/nervous 😆

I’m 37weeks and have induction booked at 39weeks but really hoping baby comes early so can avoid induction. Every little niggle, tightening etc I’m hoping it’s start of labour lol

Hatepickinganame · 19/11/2020 12:07

@alphabetti ah why the induction if you don't mind me asking? I have an appointment at 38 + 4 to decide a delivery plan, but only now because her growth has shot up 😆 its been one thing after another with this one!

Hi,
I'm 37 weeks and feeling massive!
Starting to get a bit apprehensive about labour happening in the middle of the night or something. On the other hand I have an appointment with the consultant at 39 weeks as they will induce by due date.

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

spikelou · 19/11/2020 12:08

Induction is because I'm 41 so they don't want me to go overdue, pregnancy been fine so far though.

Hatepickinganame · 19/11/2020 12:18

@spikelou hi! I'm feeling absolutely massive too, but I've had polyhydramnios which seems to have settled down now, and now they are saying that my 50th centile baby that should've weighed about 7-8lb at term is actually 90th centile and probably gonna be 10lb+!! My last was 10lb 6oz so kind of expected it. But kind of hoping they won't let me go overdue now. Are you getting many niggles or signs?

I’m 39+4 and terrified Grin
One minute I think I’m ready the next I’m thinking I need a few more days.
This is my second baby as well so not even like I don’t know what to expect!

spikelou · 19/11/2020 12:52

@Hatepickinganame
I'm aching a lot by the evening time and feeling a lot of pressure, but all similar to my first (8 years ago!)
I had a v quick labour last time so I'm definitely symptom spotting!

Hatepickinganame · 19/11/2020 12:59

@Greenhairbrush its my 4th, you'd think I'd be calm and know exactly what I'm doing by now 😅 what was your first labour like?

@spikelou I'm getting loads of pressure in my bum every time I get a braxton! Told my oh we are gonna start going for walks etc which we both know is a lie haha ive had bad pgp and I can't walk far at all haha how fast was it last time? Mine have gone 12 hours, 7 hours and 3 hours each. All from first contractions to finish as well!

Hi all, Congratulations on your pregnancies!

I am 37 weeks tomorrow and it's my first so I am completely in the dark about what to look out for or how labour is going to go!

Any tips on what to look out for except the obvious - contractions and waters going?

Luckily I don't finish work until next Friday so I can hopefully keep my mind busy until whenever happens happens :)

Hatepickinganame · 19/11/2020 13:38

@Shawla92 congratulations to you too! Obviously regular contractions or waters are the obvious signs but things like clearing out your bowels, backache, increased discharge, a 'show' (jelly like plug from cervix, may or may not be pink or bloody) are the things I can think of that might mean things are happening. Although with my 2nd I had a show and it was still weeks 😅

I was under three hours from nothing to waters going, to full on contractions and birth last time.

Hatepickinganame · 19/11/2020 16:43

Wow that's fast, was it natural labour or induced? My super fast one was an induction. The midwife said it would take days and didn't believe me when I was in full labour an hour later 😅

I had a sweep, then went in for induction and didn't need anything else to start it off in the end.

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind me jumping on. I'm 37 weeks today and it's my first pregnancy. I had my midwife appointment yesterday and the measurement on my tummy had shot up so they are sending me for a growth scan. Has anyone else had this?
Apart from that I feel great but lots of pressure down there, midwife said she can only feel one third of her head so looks like she's in position x

Hatepickinganame · 20/11/2020 09:12

@Mir1234 hi! I've been having growth scans since 28 weeks. She was 50th centile at 28 weeks and 32 weeks, then at 36 she had shot to 90th so I've been sent for a diabetes test. I had growth scans in my last pregnancy as I was huge, and turned out my son was a bug baby, 10lb 6oz. In all honesty they don't seem to do much for it, my fluid levels have been high (polyhydramnios) and obv big babies, but last time I was induced at 40+5 and so far this time they haven't said anything past testing for diabetes. I'm guessing ill probably be induced around due date again. Hope you're coping OK, its hard with a giant bump!
