Anyone not get the water birth they wanted?

Hi Everyone,
I am hoping to have a water birth, (currently 26 wks and low risk so far).
For some reason I am really worried that when I need to go in to hospital the pools will all be occupied and I won't get it! I could see myself suddenly getting completely unreasonable and refusing to get out of the bath at home...
What do you think the chance of this is? Has anyone had it happen to them?

I haven't ever had a pool birth, I think I was offered with my first but didn't fancy it. I haven't even done a birth plan yet and due on Monday. They are a waste of time. Neither of my previous 2 have been taken any notice of. All depends on what's available at the time and how your labour is going.

I always wanted a water birth, got in the pool and hated it!! There didn't seem to be enough places to hold on to and I kept slipping.
Don't put pressure on it. Whatever will be will be. There's not many people that have a picture perfect birth

With my first I wanted a water birth but it was being used at the time. With my second I wasn’t too bothered and just wanted him out. With my 3rd I thought great - they’ve upgraded the birthing suites. Loads of pools. All good. Except I was yelling for an epidural and ended up with and emergency cs as she got stuck. Always felt a bit sad I didn’t get a water birth but at the end of the day they are all here and we’re all healthy and I guess that’s all that matters in the end.

Just saw the midwife yesterday and apparently a couple of the rooms are set aside for covid-positive women, so I think the chance of a water birth for me is slightly less!
Oh well... whatever will be will be I guess!
