Are they reliable? GP is calling before 6.

I think any positive if it’s an obvious positive would be considered reliable. What made you test?

Obviously by the fact you’ve got the coil in it suggests it was not planned, I hope you’re okay!

I can't believe it tbh my head is spinning. Not because the baby wouldn't be wanted, but what are the odds??

Make sure the GP sends you for an early scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 17:12

How soon though? I'm not being very hopeful I'll see someone in the next couple of weeks.

Which freedom test was it? I had a false positive on one from ASDA a while back (I wasn't trying/wanting to get pregnant at the time) so it was a huge relief when I realised it was a false positive. There were loads of reviews on the website with other people having them too.

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 17:28

The test strips

I've just happened to read reviews on the Asda Freedom PTs too and lots of false positives. That was the test (seceral tests!) I used when I was pregnant with DS though and my positives weren't wrong.

Perhaps it's best to get a ClearBlue to be sure.

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 17:34

Everybody complained about the ASDA ones (not Freedom) and that's how I got my positive with th my 13mo

I had a positive with a copper coil fitted. He is now 22!

Probably not what you wanted to hear. But he is very loved and despite being most unexpected, worth all the heartache at the time.

madeinthe80z · 18/11/2020 17:43

I know 2 people who got pregnant on the coil, and I have heard of many others. I dont think its too uncommon. You may be required to go for an early scan as I think there is an increased risk of ectopic pregnancies from it x

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 17:46

No it's the strip ones. (The type you have to dip).

Sorry, just noticed you mentioned that before. Annoyingly, they can't be found online.

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 18:03

Yeah I got them at Sainsbury's but just saw they don't have them online

No type of contraception is 100% and there’s always a chance. I’d take a first response test to be sure

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 19:45

DP thinks it's too faint to get excited anyways

My friend had a coil and fell pregnant...definitely possible

Fressia123 · 18/11/2020 20:55

Well we shall see. It's so giant but definitely there
