Hello!
I am 25 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have worsening PGP and am really struggling with work. I am a support worker and find I cannot do my job properly. At home I can’t do simple things like walk up the stairs to the bathroom without being in crippling pain. It is getting worse daily and I do not know what to do with regards to work. I cannot be offered alternative work. Will my midwife write me a letter to confirm my pgp for my employer?

I have no idea about the letter but GP will sign you off if that's what you're after? Mine wrote me a sick note after I rang and spoke to the receptionist, without even seeing me. It wasn't for my pgp, I had some other complications and all I said to receptionist was "pregnancy complications" and that's exactly what they wrote! On a side note, if you haven't already I would request a referral to a physiotherapist. Mine was brilliant, gave me some exercises and a support belt to wear and now I'm 37 weeks and still just about coping!

I was signed off from about 20 weeks with awful SPD. Luckily I could work from home so chose that option as my commute had become impossible.

Speak to your GP about it. It sounds like you need to rest as it can be really debilitating.

Ive been suffering with PGP, its bloody awful thing!

Have a look on here, some useful information: pelvicpartnership.org.uk

Also i have had some private physio which has helped massively, if you can go private or via nhs its well worth it xx

Thank you!
I have seen my midwife today and she has suggested I get a sick note from my GP as it is worsening!
I have spoken to physio and they have given me some recommendations and light movements to try and help! No improvement yet, long way to go! 25 weeks now!
Think I'm going to have to take my maternity leave at 29 weeks to avoid losing money? Has anyone else had to do this?
