Maternity smart trousers - is Isabella Oliver worth the money?

I need some black smart maternity trousers for the office.

They will get worn to shreds, so I'm thinking of spending a little more than I normally would.

Are Isabella Oliver trousers nice? What are the ultimate work maternity trousers.

My plan B is Blooming Marvellous. Wasn't too impressed with a feeding top I bought from them, though. Material was thin, and design was fiddly.

Please rescue me from my 'big jersey skirt is the only thing that fits' wardrobe funk!

Its going to depend on your build. I found most maternity trousers fell off - or I was walking around holding them up so they wouldn't slide down but I've narrow hips and a huge bump. The only maternity trousers that have worked for me have been Habitual jeans from LA.

But having said that I've a dress and a top from Isabella Olivier and they're great - they're very well cut, they do wash well (as someone else said) without fading or bubbling up and they can look very elegant. Well as elegant as an egg can be.

I find finding trousers that fit a nightmare at the best of times, so I tend to go for the "order everything in sight and send back what doesn't fit" approach. I needed a pair of black trousers in a hurry and IO put me off becuase they were expensive and at the time I don't think they gave leg measurements. They did look nice, though.

I wound up ordering every pair of black trousers I could see from Next, which gave me about 8 pairs to try: one of which fitted reasonably well, was comfortable throughout the pregnancy and washed well and looked smart.

But I LIVED in a black stretchy dress by Noppies. I also got some tops from JoJoMamanBaby that did well.

Afraid I have to disagree. I bought a pair of IO stretchy jersey trousers with a rollover waist for my 1st pg. Now expecting number 2, the waistband is knackered and I am always hitching them up. Plus I thought that for nearly £60, I would have expected something more hard-wearing than the very thin jersey that they were made out of.

For work this time I bought some pinstrip cheapo trousers from jojomamanbebe and thought they were at least comparable with the IO ones.

My Next ones are wearing really well. They've been worn, washed and ironed numerous times and still look smart, and for the price - can't complain!

The little vest tops I got from IO for my 1st pregnancy were fantastic, even covering the bump when I got to 41 weeks with a 9lb3oz baby...!
But the trousers never ever stayed up, not when I was early on, and not when I was massive, and whenever I wore them I had to keep fidgeting and pulling them up.
