Hi everyone I've been trying for over a year to get pregnant since being on the implant for a year. I have a five year old daughter who we conceived after I'd been on the implant for 5 years then been on the pill for a bit. Got pregnant within 4 months. Been pregnant twice since and unfortunately had miscarriages both times. I was pregnant within a couple of months both times. Yesterday I took a cheap test..not sure of my cycle coz been irregular since implant...and it was quite positive so got two clear blue digital with dates...took one yesterday afternoon and one this morning..both negative..am I just not pregnant? Been having symptoms that's why I took test xx

Digital tests are the least sensitive tests available, your probably too early to get a positive on them. Try re testing with a sensitive test and if you want to do a digital try again in a few days x

Thank you...I've always tested early and got a faint line but this seemed to be darker than normal...going to test again Saturday since that's a week from my last months af xx

The clearblue digital with weeks test is actually more sensitive than most other tests - it has a threshold for hcg of 10 so I'd trust these over the cheap tests

Well sounds like I'm out for this month then but I'll check again...got that weird taste in my mouth a bit of cramping and back pain and really good sense of smell and boobs hurting on and off xx

Took me a good few days to get a pregnant result with a digital. I most definitely am pregnant though, currently 14 weeks. I wouldn’t say you’re out just yet

Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily · 17/11/2020 09:10

The clear blue actually only detects from 25mIU/ml.
Whereas some of the cheap tests and definitely FRER are under 20mIU/ml.
Get a FRER and see what that says as they are the most sensitive. Good Luck

Thank you so much for your replies...just got my hopes up with a positive then got upset again with my negatives...fingers crossed xx

I found the cheap one step tests more sensitive than FRER. Good luck, hopefully your just really early.

The U.K. ones are 10miu it's just the USA versions I believe are higher

@ivfbeenbusy
The UK leaflets for a clear blue with weeks indicator state that they measure from 25mIU/ml.
The what to expect website is an American site not UK.

So is the best early test to take the first response brand? Xx

OP posts:
Oneandabean · 17/11/2020 12:14

Take the first response to be sure. Clear blue digitals quite often don’t show positives for a while after other tests (see it a lot on here) the weeks indicator ones especially seem to be less sensitive. Fingers crossed it’s good news.

Jazzywannabe · 17/11/2020 12:16

Thank you xx

@Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily

Yeah I know the website is American but the screen shot is the U.K. Clearblue site so obviously there is a discrepancy between that and the instructions x

So...had a pad on for about 5 hours last night to see colour and only had a tiniest amount on and that's after I'd wiped really far up..today there's been only a bit of pink blood in it not much..and only a drop or two in toilet...it's only red when I wipe all the way up otherwise it's still quite light...had a few teeny tiny clots today...like really small...but still not much blood loss...this is not normal for my period...I don't recall ever having a period like this. Can this still be normal or should I be worried? Xx
