Hematoma after c section

Has anyone ever had a Hematoma near their c section scar? I developed a Hematoma above my scar one week after my c section. I’ve had it for 3 weeks now and I’m feeling pain a few times a day and it feels as though I can feel the blood moving around inside and it’s sore. It’s really only sore when this happens (if that’s what is happening) and I’m generally ok the rest of the time.

Does anyone have a similar experience they can share? How long did it take for the Hematoma to absorb back in to the body? Did you feel the Hematoma shrinking over time and feel pain?

I’ve had a hematoma from another surgery on my abdomen. So not from a c-section but just in case it helps.

My hematoma was very sore and uncomfortable. Apparently blood is an irritant, which is one of the reasons it’s so sore! Mine developed a few weeks after surgery and unfortunately it never reabsorbed within the body so I had to get it drained / aspirated. It kept coming back and I kept having to get it drained every couple of months or so.

My case was rare so please don’t be scared by this, but I did end up having to get scar revision surgery to get rid of it. However, I was just extremely unlucky as the doctors were constantly surprised that it kept coming back!

I had an abdominal hematoma. Not from C Section. Nearly 12 months on I still get a stitch pain from it sometimes. The hematoma might be gone but the scar tissue can still remain.

Thank you to both of you for relying. My gp seen me this morning and everything seems to be ok and there’s no infection so I’ve just to continue with pain killers and taking it as easy as I can with a newborn Smile thanks again!
