Just starting these and wanted to hear if people conceived on them.... It didn't affect your menstrual cycles or delay ovulation ..... Thanks

Yes I conceived straight away. It definitely had no impact on that and GP said it was the safest antidepressant to use in pregnancy.

Good luck!

I fell pregnant on Sertraline (not planned but nothing to do with S just stupidity lol) I had no issues with cycle etc. I have reduced to 50mg since finding out and will stay on this for the remainder of my pregnancy.

Thanks did it make you feel worse before it made you feel better?

I have been taking Sertraline for over a year and I don't think it had any effect on my fertility. Have you read something to suggest that it would? I am continuing to take Sertraline during my pregnancy.

It will take time for the tablets to work, and you may feel worse before your body adjusts to them. It should be temporary, but if you are worried then don't hesitate to speak to your GP. They will hopefully be able to put your mind at rest.

I've done far too much googling and because of that its taken me 6 months to start the meds, but day 6 and im still feeling like crap, more anxious etc. And worried that it could affect fertility, but thats stuff I've over looked into on Google again, google is not my friend

I understand your anxiety about taking the medication. Is the information you have read about Sertraline possibly effecting fertility purely anecdotal, or proper medical studies? I have never heard of Sertraline causing issues with fertility. If you can, could you focus on the information leaflet included with your tablets? I've just double checked mine and it doesn't list fertility issues as a known side effect. Sertraline is safe to use during TTC and pregnancy, my GP has been very happy to continue prescribing it for me through both TTC and now pregnancy. Could you speak to your GP again? They will be able to reassure you.

The leaflet does say that it can take two weeks or longer for the tablets to work. I would give the tablets more than a few weeks to work if you can manage it. I know it is difficult.

Has your GP mentioned self referral to counselling services? In my local area mental health support is under IAPT, you should be able to Google "IAPT + your area" to access services. There will be a waiting list, but I think additional support would be really beneficial for you alongside medication.

It took me about two weeks to get over the side effects when I started taking them, jittery legs, panicky feeling, pounding heart. But they are the most effective meds I've been on with no side effects other than that first couple of weeks. My doc told me the same about them being one of the safest antidepressants to use in pregnancy.

Stick it out for a bit longer, it feels so crappy at first, but if they work for you then it's worth those two weeks!

Just reigniting this again, but I'm on day 13 of Setraline and also on day 13 of my cycle ttc, i normally ovulate on day 12 of a 24/25 day cycle, but so far it looks like i ovulated on day 10, which is early for me so I'm worried that the Setraline has affected it.... What does anyone think.....
