Sickness

Hi ladies

I’m 6+5 and my god has morning sickness hit me. I wished for this so I can’t complain as it’s reassurance BUT the nausea all day everyday is really difficult. I’m struggling to eat. I don’t fancy anything at all.

I keep biscuits with me but can’t keep them down. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to ease the nausea? Constipation isn’t helping either!

Thanks xx

@July21Baby hey! I'm in the same position I'm only just over seven weeks, I was so so worried about no sickness and now I'm kicking myself, I feel so sick all day everyday to the point I can't function! I've literally tried everything :( xx

Bobblehatwobble · 16/11/2020 14:31

I’m 8 and a half weeks - I’ve only managed to crack it today when I woke up at 4, ate a ginger nut and had a drink of water, did the same at 7 and touch wood it has helped to start the day off better. I’ve still dry heaved on about three occasions but no vomiting yet today which considering it is all day every day for me I’m pretty happy about! Xx

I'm 9weeks+2 and have suffered from the day we found out. We only found out as I had such terrible constipation I went to the doctors who did a pregnancy test (total shock) so I though the sickness was that.
Ive tried small little means and cut out anything acidy like oranges and vinegars which has helped. Also my friend said ginger so ginger ale and ginger biscuits helped.
Ive also been prescribed an anti sickness tablet from the nurse but to be honest they didn't help.
3 weeks on and its easier so hope you both feel better soon x

@Suprised2020 thank you, I've read when placenta takes over you may start to feel better between 8-12 weeks, I'm just really hoping for that! Do you still feel sick all day,

Suprised2020 · 16/11/2020 14:43

@AnxiousAnnie86 .. No, not all day.. Still little bits here and there but it's more if I smell something a bit off or I struggle when I brush my teeth but it's defo getting easier (and the constipation has gone) .. I sneezed last night and had such bad pain but I googled and thats also really normal and a healthy sign... the joys and steep learning curve (my first pregnancy)

Hope you feel better soon

Try Fruit Pastille ice lollies. They were a good send between weeks 6 and 10!

Fruitloops34 · 16/11/2020 14:45

@Suprised2020

I sneezed so hard yesterday and it hurt my belly so hard I thought I’d given birth. Glad to know it’s normal lol

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/11/2020 14:53

@Fruitloops34 I've heard about ice lollies! I haven't tried that I will give it a go!!! X

Hi, there's a thread called 'Hyperemesis Support' on the pregnancy board, the ladies on there are really helpful and have lots of advice on foods and drinks to try, coping mechanisms and medication if it is Hyperemesis Gravidarum rather than ca bit of sickness"

July21Baby · 16/11/2020 14:57

Thanks everyone for your replies! Il defo get some ginger biscuits and ice lollies.

Pretty sure my OH thinks I’m milking it so I can eat whatever I want but it’s so not the case 😢xx

Snap! I'm 6+6 weeks and I'm fine in the day but definitely of my food but the second it gets late I'm being sick especially in the middle of the night the nausea is horrendous 😩 it's so tiring! I know it's a good sign but I definitely feel your pain xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/11/2020 15:29

I've read it gets better between 9-12 weeks but the thought of five more weeks of this makes me want to cry! X

Mylasmummy2102 · 16/11/2020 15:39

I had it so bad all the at through my 2nd pregnancy I ended up in hospital on a drip! So I'm praying it's not that bad this time round xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/11/2020 16:02

@Mylasmummy2102 same, I was in and out of hospital from 7 weeks right through till 25 as I couldn't keep anything down, I weighed less at 20 weeks pregnant than before!! I just pray it doesn't happen again!! I've heard sour sweets help?' X
