Painting

Hello

We are doing house renovations so a lot of painting (amongst other things). When the painting really starts I will be about 22/23 weeks.

Any advice on whether I can help with painting? If I can't, then should the room be completely shut off (it's the kitchen so this may be difficult). With the lockdown, it's not like I can just move to my parents for the week!

Thanks

Emulsion is fine, you would need to avoid solvent based paint though so things like primers, gloss etc. You can do emulsion yourself but just open the window xx

We painted the house when I was about the same gestation & emulsion is totally fine, especially water based.

We just kept the windows and doors open - I wore a mask at first but took it off soon enough.

Just look for low VOC or zero VOC paints (most are these days). They're totally safe. And just keep doors and windows open as much as possible. I painted sons' nursery around week 30 and no issues at all.

I was upa ladder painting at 34 weeks last time as we were desperately trying to get three rooms finished in time for DD. She seems fine! Make sure rooms are well ventilated and take regular breaks.
