Headache at 30 + weeks

Hi.
I am 30 + 4 weeks and for the last week I have had a very regular headaches. They do improve with paracetamol but as soon as it wears off the headache starts to return.
Do you think this is something to worry about? I have no other symptoms but my last pregnancy (nearly 7 years ago) was induced at 39weeks due to high BP.
I'm seeing the midwife on Thursday.
Thanks x

I’d call your midwife and ask for a checkup sooner - blood pressure check and urine dipstick at a minimum (for pre eclampsia). Also make sure you’re well rested and well hydrated - I’m sure you’ve got that covered already. Hope all settles down for you.

A pre eclampsia headache will not improve with painkillers so most likely you have nothing to worry about but it's never a bad idea to check in with your midwife and check BP. If she's concerned she'll send you to your day assessment unit for bloods.

Thanks for your responses. I did call the mw yesterday but was told it was probably just a viral thing and they'd check my bp and urine on Thursday at my 31 week appointment. I still have a headache today but just trying to focus on work and not stress.

This really surprises me tbh. Back in my day ( old gimmer) if one of my ladies had rung me in these circumstances I would have asked them to come for a bp check and urine test on the day.
OP I think you can get a bp check in a high street pharmacy.
Do you have any visual disturbances or any other symptoms?

My eyes are feeling dry and stinging but not blurry. Nothing really but the headache and needing to wee all the time.
I hate the feeling of wasting people's time - I've been in twice this pregnancy (once with a bleed the second reduced movement) and both times all was fine and I ended up feeling daft.

Have you been staring at a screen a lot?

I’ve been wfh throughout this pregnancy and have ended up working additional hours. I’ve had more headaches than normal, which I’ve put down to staring at a laptop with fewer breaks than normal.

You should never feel daft OP. This is your health and that of your baby. It is important.
